However, from what I've read, (including the original Felicity books) children in days gone by were expected to act more maturely, to run a home and to work hard. Girls like Felicity were married and running their own households at very young ages. So more was expected of them, and they met those expectations.

Felicity's blue dress is so beautiful! I was near Gettysburg once and I saw a blue gown in the Civil War era style in a store window that had a similar color and I just fell in love with it. Unfortunately, I did not have enough money for it. Thank you for posting this!!!!
