I just bought a blues harp MS in the key of C, is that a good harp to purchase? i used to have a cheap one and upgrade to that. Ive got my bends and other things down the learning curve for harmonica is hard to master! practice makes perfect thoe :D

@muffem All keys are great..changing keys doesn't help generate the bluesy feeling..you have to do that yourself. C harp is fine.

@muffem Some people say that D is the saddest key, so if you're looking to play some relly sad blues you should bye a G harp, if you have a G harp you can do awesome solos in D.

You're most likely familiar with Sonny Terry's "Freight Train" song. His approach to the train sound is different than most, I think he uses a variation of throat vibrato and diaphragm movement to create the "sawing" train sound. I've been able to approximate it but not consistently. Any thoughts on his technique and how to practice it?

I even slowed down one of your solo's, transposed it into a different key for my old harp and spent 2 months at sea practicing it bar by bar with my ipod on, many nights on the waves with the harp of shellist at the helm. Actually went from Uk to the caribbean in the end, 4500 miles and blew harp when i could (thisbemylor on youtube) confident cross harp player but draw harp is all thanks to you.....Alex
