Really high arches means really WEAK feet. If your feet are that weak, you will not be dancing for very long. And as said below, many of the Prima Ballerina Assoultas do not have archy, pretty feet. They're that way because of their technique, emotion, and stage presence.
Just thought I should throw out there: having good feet does NOT, by any means, make you a good dancer. It's not a complete necessity for a career in dance, either.
very good overall, i would just be care full of keeping ur legs turned out, you get a very ugly position in the arabesque if you don't keep ur supporting leg turned out, same on the first walks forward. but good work:)
you don't always have to have good feet. there are some famous dancers out there that have bad feet and a great career b/c of there expression. people who watch ballet or lyrical or contemporay or whatever and have no idea about dance don't think about "oh look bad feet." they don't even know what that means or is. they just think of what comes across from the dancer. that is at least my opinion. you look realy good
by the way the music is from Michael Flately Celtic Tiger CD
so true for contemporary. I did ballet for probably 13 years and always just felt terrible because of my feet and the fact that I could never get over the shank in my pointe shoe. I tried and tried did thera band but I unfortunately was just born with terrible feet. Now though that I found contemporary I've been able to excel because of my ballet core and passion and strength. Ballet really can make a girl have terrible self esteem.
ya but having bad feet doesn't mean that your a terrible dancer and don't every say that if your not good at it that its pointless, even if you do succeed, trying makes you stronger no matter what you do
Most Prima Ballerina Assoultas do not have pretty feet. Anna Pavlova was about the one with the highest arches, and if you ever look at pictures of her, her feet look horrendous.
Ballet is less about how your feet look and more about the overall body and overall aesthetics. That's like saying that you can have an awful body and bad technique but can get into a ballet school because you have banana feet.
i used to do ballet for 7.5 yrs. it was super fun&&i quit b/c my school wouldnt let me keep dancing. im dancing again b/c my mother convinced them to let me continue. i wasnt dancing for 6 mos. so i dont think its too late
i loved it! i did ballet for 8 years i started when i was 3 but left when i was 11 im completely out of practice and out of shape but i want to start up again... do you think its too late...
i have always wanted to be a dancer, but i never got the opportunity until recently, yet i just turned 15. is there any chance that i can be that good? or even half as good. idk why but i have always wanted to dance.
That was wonderful! I am in dance myself i take 3 leavels of ballet and i am already in pointe and this is my first year of dance. for everyone worried about your age it does not matter i am 13 very soon to be 14 on the 27th and i still an im level one jazz and ballet yes i do take higher levels of ballet but i am not that good there are 12 year olds much better then i am and even a 9 year old better then me. age does not matter it comes with pratice and experience.
i have always wanted to be a dancer, but i never got the opportunity until recently, yet i just turned 15. is there any chance that i can be that good? or even half as good. idk why but i have always wanted to dance.
Kaii for pointe for the girl who has been dancing for 7 years, if you love it dont give it up it will come to you some day. For the girl who asked about money you should pratice techique @ home each day 4 1 hour and then when you go back you can succeed.
Everyone is asking you questions so I also decided too. I did ballet all last year and some when I was like four and five years old. I am 12 years old [soon to be 13 febuary 1st] and I really want to do well in ballet and keep going in the ballet world but I can't take ballet classes at the moment because of lack of money, and for two classes where i live its about 245 dollars. So what should I do so I am able to keep progressing?
no..of course not.. i havn't been on poinet for that long either, and this is my fourteenth year. Never give up, keep working hard, and definately believe in what you're trying to do. It'll really help you out.
hi i have been wanting to do ballet for a long time but college work has stopped me i am now 17 and would really like to start, do u think i am too old to be starting now??? u look gr8 btw xx
Well anything is possible* one of my dance instructors actually started in college and is pretty well known. So if it's something you really want to do, try it out and keep your mind focussed on it...Just gotta believe you acn do it =)
I loved it. I have my first solo coming up to, but mines on pointe and its my first year on pointe so it will probably suck but your amazing. And for the person in denial about your age I'm 14 I started ballet at 13 already got a solo in it and on pointe if you work hard, you can accomplish anything you put your mind towards.
this music is from celtic tiger- michael flatley's latest show.... i'm confused as to why i'm hearing it as it's an irish dancing tune- a slip jig to be exact. i learned this dance in camp 2 years ago.
no, 15 isn't a lost cause at all...that's when i started and i don't fe3l i'm falling behind or anything...besides if you want something bad enough..you go for it..period! don't worrii about your age, coz that doesn't matter at all =]
i have a quesiton, but answer back in a mesage cuz i ont knwo when i get responses here...um...cna someone start practicing ballet at 15 or older...or its a lost cause?
You used your arms and head very well, quite lovely, and you have great extension. However, I didn't really feel like you working your releve as much as you could have, but maybe I'm just overly particular about such things. Keep up the beautiful dancing!!! ^_^
Wow you are a really great and graceful dancer!Your positions are unbelievibly gorgeous and just so beautiful!=D Great one boy! I'm soo envious about you!!!

BALLET SOLO
jackismusic 2 years ago
well if it was meant to be a BALLET SOLO
then i would assume that ballet (being a turned out form of dance) would be turned out, if she is doing a ballet solo
jackismusic 2 years ago
Right...but you can tell from the choreography that the ballet she is doing has a bit of a contemporary style.
krennett000 2 years ago 6
It's called The Garden of Eden. It's from Irish dancing, Lord of the Dance type stuff...I think.

there is more to ballet than having a perfect body. not every one is born with beautiful feet but that doesn't mean they don't have solid technique.
