Great question!! A little more research provided an answer: It comes from a William Blake poem; "Tiger, tiger, burning bright / In the forests of the night, / What immortal hand or eye / Could frame thy fearful symmetry?" The Tyger.
It also seems to be a play on the English pronunciation of "cemetery."
