@armysappergirl4life Females can be Engineers, BUT... You will be stationed with a Engineer Support Battalion or a construction aspect in a Marine Air Wing. Basically you'll be building support structures in Afghanistan i.e. Morale buildings, Sentry Houses, etc. Males usually get stationed with a Combat engineer battalion, which sweep for IED's, Blow shit up and are placed in Line platoons clearing routes.. I know this cause i'm stationed in 29 palms, 3D CEB

I have wanted to be a Navy SEAL and a sniper since 5th grade but what helped me chose was the fact that in the SEAL teams I could become a sniper if I work hard enough, but it basically is a question you have to ask yourself. Both are great choices for your life and I have passion for all the branches of the Military. Follow your heart and what you the most passionate about GL man

You obviously know nothing about the cadet programs then. They teach them how to lead and inspire others. Officers are also the first targets of the enemies. Some people just have the call to lead while others have the call to follow. People become officers not for the money. College students could be focusing on a major that could pay a lot more. Also who would lead our soldiers without the professional academies and cadet programs?

I support the safety of our soldiers, but I find it shocking that no one has commented on how soldiers are objectified in this. I mean "making marines" and "no compromises." @yair08 work out, look up USMC pft. your going to want to do well on that. its 20 pullups, 100 crunches in 2 minutes. 18 minute 3 mile run. also work on pushups. but seriously from what iv heard its 10% physical 90% mental. you need to be committed
