Soon, the long-time PLDT slogan "The Telecommunications Company" and the original PLDT Logo was retired and changed to the new logo in 1996 with the tagline: Clearly for You.
The new PLDT logo launched during its midnight millennium celebration at the PLDT building in Makati on January 1, 2000. The new red color of the slightly revised symbol is meant to convey "energy, warmth, heart, speed and life." The borders of the old logo were removed to signify the Company's openness to change in the competitive global environment.
Millennium messages from network executives Manuel V. Pangilinan and Napoleon Nazareno will be broadcast and, to top it all off, a 150-piece orchestra will accompany the artists, and accompany with great fanfare the unveiling of the new PLDT logo for the new century.
I was barely 7 or 8 years old when it was aired on TV in 1994. I could hardly remember some of those TV commercials in the Philippines w/meaningful messages.
