They are not women, cause if you are born with a penis/balls having grow of a beard and male muscles, plus even have the smell of a man(testosterone), well then you are definitely a man. The brain isn't deformed or anything of the sort, it just developed in the wrong way, its all about hormonal issues during fetal development. The gender of the brain is not something that science can ever change, nor should it be something that science could change because it was be unethical to change who you are, your identity. I have never said the brain is deformed, but only that medical help is a possibility (and of course medicine cant change you, but only help if needed). Yes i think so its a hormonal issue. You advocate getting help, going to a psychiatrist and so on. But thats what transgender people do already. In order the take hormones and to do the operations you need to have the okay from a psychiatrist. If they don't say you should transition, then you can't legally transition.

@globe255 Because your brain is your personality, your identity, who you are. Changing the brain would literally change the person. Changing the body simply makes it a different body, but not a different person.

And no its not BS, a surgeon would never ever do the surgery (for the last decade onwards of course) unless he is given a Gender Identity Disorder letter from a psychiatrist . A psychiatrist is not god (i never said s/he was), but is more likely to know whether the case is genuine.

@globe255 We are not talking about "thoughts". We are talking about the structure of the brain. These aren't fleeting thoughts or feelings. This is the gender of the brain. That is not something you can change or suppress or ignore.

And there are no pills which help you deal with your body being a different sex. If there were such pills then no one would ever transition, and no psychiatrist would recommend surgery like they do now.

@1VellaA surgeon dont do it unless he/she has to. He/she maybe not even believe you when you say you will not regret. Why? Because there has been several cases where people regret they have had their penis removed. So even when you say you are talking about the structure of the brain, it can still be the thoughts playing around, gender or not. But anyway its your life, but i wish you a happy ending.

@globe255 The people who regret it are those who had the surgery in the past when it was much easier to get the surgery done. All you had to do was have a 45 min consultation. Today its different.

I have seen a documentary about it so i know it is a hell of pain to go through (so people must really want it to do that). This is much about feelings, how you feel about your body, but do you think you will feel compl. like a woman when it is done? Remember you cant have a vagina (but i guess that doesnt matter).

(maybe its just in my country it is like that????). I cant say if the vagina surgery has been done hundreds of times but i doubt. Even though it has been done hundreds of time, it isnt much out of a world population of about 6,8 billion people.

@globe255 When they say they wonna have their penis removed, they mean they want to hv SRS surgery, which means removing one form of genitalia and creating another.

And I mean at any rate there are quite a few trans women on youtube who have had the surgery! Its not a new procedure or anything. Its about 18,000$ dollars more or less. Again you're showing that you know nothing about being transgendered.
