because of all the comments the NME made about the bands physical apperance when the knew album came out and the way they kind of downplayed the music, MCR are making a point that its not about the looks

its becuase a few months ago nme magazine had a 'go' at them about their image and ray in particular (weight gain etc) rather than properly reviewing the album, and they were making a statement that its about the music and not the image.
