  • Skillet on drugs

  • ergot

  • One of my favorite Skillet songs :')

  • lol! if they were like this now, they would'nt be as popular as they are now.

  • @jjcale1111 this song is about the glory of Gods creation, in this case the PLANET saturn

  • Why is a "Christian" band doing a song called Saturn... Saturn = Satan in semitic cultures - from which Christianity arose.

I hope this is just an honest mistake on their part.... I like this band.

  • i'm diggin the glasses. it's cool/funy to see how a band changes. from black hair & glasses, to blond stringy hair, back in black. same as the band(my favourite)dc talk. they turned into tobymac, then michal tate went to take over lead vocalist for the newsboys. then you have a title for a song like this " Newsboys - Jesus Freak Ft. Toby Mac" and i find that amusing because toby mac helped wright the song :)

  • I love looking through the chronology of Skillet music....Though I'm not a big fan of every genre, I can appreciate the journey of sounds that they've gone through. Its cool to see a band that's always trying something new. :)

  • They have come along way.....the sound has changed.

  • theese days it was john koorey and theese people :)

  • John coopers looks have changed so much...... i wonder what he will look another 7 or 8 years from now....... i wonder if his parents recognize him after how many different styles he has had over the years.

  • @heavenmetal1 Agreed I mean now he has black short mohawk kind of :) my mom said maybe 12 years ago they all had natural hair colors korey had light blonde my mom said haha :)

  • Saturn is a grate planet to live on :D

  • The then skillet was created

  • not really a head banger like some other skillet songs

  • This song says to me that like god, even though we can't see the ring around Saturn with our own eyes, we still know its there and always will be there. What does it say to you?

  • This song sais to me that like god, even though we can't see the ring around saturn with our own eyes, we still know its there and always will be there.

  • damn i was like 10 yrs old when this song came out...haven't heard it since til now lol pretty funny

  • Cool song from the day. I remembered this off of the Seltzer video compilation from I guess around 1997. I gave my youth pastor a Canadian 5 dollar bill as collateral to borrow it. haha...and I could swear the Sick Puppies get most of their influence from this band. lol.

  • Man, never saw the vid for this back in the day ... talk about styling yourself after Oasis. Wow.

  • wow ive never herd Skillets old stuff. its prittty good but i like Comatose the best

  • what year and album was this?

  • @jagglerjog891

    1996 ;)

  • I wonder what John thinks when he sees this...

  • JOHNN!!?!?! Oh, goodness.

  • @diehardskater101 This dates back to around 1997. It appears on a 1997 sampler CD I have.

  • Man, this was my all time favorite Skillet song before the Awake album came out... Now it's number 2 after Hero

  • It's been forever since i heard this song. I didn't become a Skillet fan though until the Invincible album with Best Kept Secret as the hit. Allien Youth was awesome. Colide, Comotose, and Awake are awesome too.

  • I love John's old writing style. It was so beautiful. Don't get me wrong; I love his new style too. In my opinion, it's more powerful, but his old style had more beauty and less formula. Songs like "My Beautiful Robe" and "I Can" are just amazing; there's so much emotion.

Did anyone else realize that the 1st song of their 2nd album answers the 1st song of their 1st album? "Do you really love my soul, even after I hated You" - I Can "Hey, you I love your soul." - Hey, You I Love Your Soul.

  • I love this. Their old stuff, released when i was about 4, is excellent, you can truly see how they have changed, plus, some of their older stuff is so inspirational

  • I like this song but Wirlwind is still by far my favorite skillet song!!!

  • .,d88b,.,d88b,

    .88888888888

    ..‘Y8888888Y’

    …..‘Y88888Y’

    …………’Y’ FROM ROMANIA !!!! :D

  • I can still remember being in high school with my cd player sitting on the benches listening to this song!! Skillet got me through so many rough times in high school and it is amazing that they are main stream now!!!! so awesome, all thanks be to God. They can now help unbelievers also.

  • @diehardskater101 it is either thier first or second album

  • wow youtube is retarded

  • get better audio

  • needs better audio

  • Vero. Non si sente una meraviglia...

  • Looks like YouTube mucked up the audio.

  • awsome!

  • ma si sente d cacca xD

  • omg ??

  • Coming to St. Louis Aug 2 Rock the river tour, pray for this revival. God bless all

  • I apologize for the speed. This is you tubes fault. The audio was fine, and now for some reason its sped up,and skipping. I will try and re-upload ona future date.

  • lol speed x 3??? really bad..

  • this isnt supposed to be choppy is it??

    great song

    not this version

    not so great vid

  • hu but this is bad srry

  • HU love this song!

  • dude this is messed up pretty bad.

  • HU I LOVE SKILLET

  • uh?..is the song suppose to sound choppy like that?

  • no it is not

  • Who loves SKILLET say HU

    HU

  • what is great about skillet and john cooper is the way the sound of each album is different like how they got their start with this song. It is interesting to compare comatose with this and think of the changes the band went through.

cant wait for the new album sometime in 2009!!

  • its differnt ,but if this is where skillet got thier start so GOD BLESS SATURN... and its ring around it :) I LOVE SKILLET!!!

  • wow i just read my comment over and i have horrible grammer :P lol

    sorry, people ^.O lol

  • wow, his voice sounds so sweet and soft! i like it anyway and agree that if songs like this brought to life the awesome skillet music today :) yay skillet!

    GOD BLESS~

  • ah dont watch panheads johns on crack here!!

  • i think their newer stuff goes better with his voice. this really doesn't sound like skillet

  • i love to see how they went from this acoustic style to the metal/alternative that they do now

  • this is skillet wow differnt from rebirthing .......

  • John Cooper has a beautiful voice*__*

    i love it!

  • Again, you have to realize that this is where Skillet got their start. If it wasn't for songs like this, you would not be hearing their new songs now. At the time this song was released, the music spoke, and still speaks to everyone in many ways. They have spawned many genres, and for band that has been around for 12 years, thats pretty cool. This is from their first album, and that did really well. Each album they have done sounds a little different than the one before, and variety is cool.

  • their new songs are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better

  • I dont like their new stuff anywhere near as much as I like these. It's a matter of opinion.

  • is this really skillet?!

  • old school

  • lol.. is this skillet ???

  • wow this doesnt sound like skillet at all but i like it!!

  • Yeah listen to the actual song before you make judgment, this is sped up and of poor quality, its a neat song though. And if you want a nice contrast to how much their sound has changed, listened to 2-3 tracks from "Skillet", then their CD "Collide" then their CD "Comatose"...

  • What happened to the song? It's sped up like 2x for me...

  • mine 2... It's like really clicky and it's really getting on my nerves!!!

  • ok song there new stuff is better thou

  • my how theyve changed since then

  • Some people dont like this song but i dont mind it, something different form them. SKILLET ROCKS!!!

  • woah!!! skillet is my fave band but...

...wow thats all i can say is he the one w/ the glasses creepy it doesnt even look like him please please dont tell me those glasses were popular back then =[

  • his glasses reminds me of harry potter^^

    hahahaha

    but this song is awesome...

okay, the whole band is awesome... but i love this song... my favourit after comatose

  • isnt that john?

  • dont get me roung i love skillet but stop the hippy songs

  • old old old school Skillet, around 96.

New stuff better, at least better than that Techno phase (hey you I love your soul)

    (but Invincible was good)

  • oh crap...

  • it is them i think its on invencibill or howerver its called this was i while ago but it is them

  • its on the cd called skillet

  • o ok

  • hmm it doesn't sound like skillet but the song is good anyway:P

  • yeah it reaaally doesn't sound like them

  • i'm a big fan of skillet and went to their concerts and i know that is not them

  • I love this song. The only Skillet song I like. I remeber watching Seltzer and this video being on it. Great.

  • lol n its possiably not even them

  • the song stops in the middle

    thats bull

  • is it just me or does John look like daniel jackson from sg-1? lol good song... old song... still, it's skillet :D

  • old old Skillet lol doesn't matter which Skillet is better because there all better lol

  • john cooper with glasses...wow. ^_^

  • ... man, the roots. still prefer "whispers in the dark" though, lol.

  • Okay.... What's the point in this song? I just don't get what it's about... whatsoever...

  • This song is about asking God what will happen in life. God replys that it shouldn't matter to you, because He (God) will take care of you. The song is all about trust.

"Saturn has a ring around it. You can never see it with your eyes. Saturn has a ring around it, many moons know this to be true."

"Heaven has a ring around it, the angels sing a song over you. Heaven has a ring around you, if you don't see it, know that it's true." The song is about trusting God.

  • This video looks so 70s... I do like this song, his voice is a bit too high at the begining though... I honestly thought it was a girl singing at first :/... but anyways nice song!

  • is that john from the current skillet?

  • Yes that is John from the current Skillet.

  • what the hell!!!

  • lmfao! what the hell is wrong with them in this video!!

  • Gotta love Ken Steorts

  • if i ever get sad or feel lonly idk why but i listen to this song . It helps to know skillet is a little soft at times.

in consert they ruled they were so metal.

i love this band and everything they stand for.

all their songs are good and they all have meanings you just have to search in your heart to find it

  • Old Skillet and new rocks, this is a awesome song!

  • For those that like the new Skillet, you got to remember that if it wasn't for the old Skillet, you wouldn't have the new Skillet. Plus, you have to hear all their albums to really see how they have progressed. You may find some of the new Skillet within the old. They have lots of great songs, and are definietly worth checking them out.

  • this song always makes me laugh. maybe it's because john looks so geeky. i like the way they sound now. love the old songs though. they were so simple.

  • It is indeed Skillet. But it's from the mid-late 90's

  • Their better work, imo.

  • new pwns

  • new skillet deffintly

  • this is a bawlsy song any1 else agreciously agree?

  • idk. . .i like the new skillet more. . .there more harder. . .i dont think they would be that famous if they stayed like this. . .not talking bad about them. . .i love them. . .and they so ROCKED THE MABEE CENTER. . .but i just like the new Skillet more. . .sorry : /

  • new skillet, old skillet???? who new and who old?

  • This is not skillet...

This is almost funny!!! I can kind of hear what sounds something close to what they sound like now, but man I gotta stretch my mind to hear it... Good stuff!

  • Yes. yes it is. Do you even know what the lead singer looks like? It's John L. Cooper. This is from their self titled and first album called SKILLET.

  • i like the new skillet aswell as the old. there both very good.

  • this song makes me so sad...mainly because it reminds me of my past...this song has so many good memories attached to it for me..

i miss the old skillet also... :(

    oh well

  • john looked so much different tehn he does now

  • haha

    i know he bulked up.

  • im glad skillet has changed since then! lol

  • I've loved this song since 1999 when I would go to coffee house!!! It still rocks!!

  • beautiful song, regardless if your christian, such a passionate song, one of my favorite Skillet songs....... beautiful

  • I started to listen to Skillet when Collide came out. After a while they grew to be my favorite band and I started to listen to there old stuff too. I gotta say that it is really good but I personally prefer their newer stuff. It seems to reach out to none christians and christians alike a lot more than these do and I think that is one of the most important things for a christian rock band to do.

  • i started listening when comatose came out, then i went to collide, now there my favorite band, too.

  • Skillet rox.

    Face It.

  • yah they went mainstream. but they are still dedicated to writing ONLY christian rock.

being mainstream just helps get their message out.

  • wow. old school. still pretty cool though!

  • omg the lead singer looks like me in this vid this was made when he was sixteen

  • o my goodness this song definatly is there old stuff but its got SO many memories!!! this was the song of my brothers childhood! i love it!

  • I like both their old and new songs...They changed alot

  • i love god and the earth amen!!

  • Nah... their new stuff is better

  • good analogy. people scoff what they cannot see.

  • I miss old school skillet too. Some of their new stuff is good, but I think they focus too much on the instruments and synthesizing now. It used to be so simple...

  • That's funny becuase I am always thinking I miss the Invincible/Alien Youth stuff becuase it was more synth rock and now it's got like so much strings and...I mean it's good, I love skillet but I see what your saying. It's a little like they're trying to be something. Don't get me wrong, Skillet is great IMO and they can be whatever they like. But I agree the simpler stuff is neat to go back to, I'm still for progression though. Even when it's not always my favorite progression...

  • Well jave, I see what you are getting at, though their lyrics and music are both still amazing though, I love the progression, and how they change their sound every record. Hey if your comment gets marked as spam I am sorry I did it by accident. They should really have a "are you sure you want to mark this as spam?" thing, though it is letting me respond to you now.

  • i really miss this old stuff. they used to play this song on this christian radio staion in the mornings on my way to school. good times

  • i gotta say i think i prefer the new skillet but i guess these are ok too lol. peace :D

  • I love old school Skillet. This is just so simple but effective. You don't need heaps of overbuds to make a song sound good. Just great lyrics with lots of heart.

  • yo ima christian n god hates no one, ery life is important. there is no worthless. jus believe n praise god.

  • I went a head and removed all the negative comments, and will continue to do so. I apologize to everyone that had to see those. Anyone else who chooses to leave negative comments geared towards anyone here,or what we believe in,you are the ones that say its a waste of time,so why are you wasting your time leaving a negative comment? Please don't judge people because of what they like. Take care,Pete

  • Nah..

    God Loves You Tho'

  • Well from a few comments i've read people seem to like the idea of there is no god and their lives are meaningless.and they would just die and never go anywhere at all..and that they should just die right now because everything is meaningless...thats what it seems that their saying and believing..But there Was and Is and Forever Will Be God the creater of*Everything* He made*Everything*.we as humans used what He (Yahweh(God) He has a name not just a title)what He Created.thus He made Everything

  • :Orcol: if god created everything then who created god?

a god of god and so on? o.O xD

  • cute...God has always existed.

  • -off topic-

Why is it that when i post a reply to a comment, it appears on top as if it was a normal comment, if everyone sees it like that then we'll never know who is talking about what with who. My last comment was directed at HBHO

  • Well if you dont like us being christans then dont be so rude. Its called a Free counrty and we can belive w/e we want.

  • John cut his hair since the pix of this album i see. still he looks geeky in this video lol

    God does exist

    Like the song says

Saturn has a ring around it.. but u cant see it..

God exist and just because u cant see Him doesnt mean He doesnt exist.

And if ur wondering why He would let His creations be in pain listen to the song "Jesus Bring the Rain" by Mercy Me and figure out what the song means

  • God never does wrong. He is all knowing and perfect. We were given free will and what is going on in this world is all the fault of the human race. God is probably hurt by seeing what we do, but again, it's all down to free will.

  • I have said that over a million times, nice to see someone who gets it :)

  • God does exist and besides I'd rather believe there is a God than find out he doesn't exist after I die and for nothing to happen than for me to not believe in God and find out there is.

  • God does exist, and he's letting this happen for a reason-I personally think it's to show how benefited we are by his grace, letting us have a free will, if we want to beleive him, we can, we're not just robots and do w/e he says, it's your choice whether you beleive in him or not, but you'll be a lot happier knowing he's by your side at all times, the good and bad, and forgives you for everything, and doesn't punish you. you'll be happier with his grace with you at all times.

  • I agree with you and I don't understand why on a CHRISTIAN song you would be getting negative responses to your comment.

  • People are just like that. I don't really understand why but they feel the need to bother those whom are faithful. They want us to be like them I suppose.

I know God is real and I have had my fair share of proof.

Also this song is really nice, it's smooth :P

  • Jon looks so nerdy in this...haha

  • or he doesnt exist... :z

  • is john trying to look like john lennon?

  • lol :P i think so :P

  • lol

  • lol
