you're right. Not everything should be taken seriously. But this subject is serious. People your age suffered/suffer from this and trust me when I say they take it very seriously. If you are not mature enough to handle that then choose a subject matter that is more adequate for your level of maturity.

Sophie, Minimata was a serious problem, I'd suggest against taking it lightly, though I see what you were trying to do.
