  • do algae eaters destroy or eat the aquarium plants ??

  • my algae eater is bigger. they hurt wen u take them out to clean the tank so u hafta wear a thick glove

  • we returned our Pleco. there was more than enough food for him but he ate one of our 40$ angel fish. he was as small as yours when we got him, we returned him at 12 inches long lol

  • I have one, except mine is just a tid bit smaller. ( : Her name is Algae, very creative i know.

  • @EthanYT7 thats same name of ours!!

  • more like a car washer

  • dammnnn

  • is someone getting a tatto in the back round

  • about the story's in the command about them shitting too much... well they are eating the food-rests and algea, so his shit always contains less waste then what he's eating... so in the end it' has definitely a possitive effect in your tank (that's my opinion). Shitting resolution is changing water every week, like you HAVE to do to keep a good stressfree aquarium !!

  • @TheBSideDJ Riiiiggghhhht? I thought the same thing, hrmm...

  • Once they get that big they dont eat algae from the glass anymore.. You have to feed them actual sinking food or algae disc.

  • Plocosssssimusahhhhhhhhhh!!!! I love them they're so neat, I had one when I had a fish tank. He/she loved algae waffers!!! :)

  • Nice pleco . Hope mine grows that big one day

  • i used to have one , but it didnt qo daht biq, cuhz it died :( buht yah der very frendly. and amazin petts,so interstin toh have. also add a underwater drawft froq

  • People say that these should be in at least a 55 gallon tank. I can believe that, since these things can get to two feet long.

  • cant wait for mine to get this big.

  • is that a sail fin pleco?

  • damn.. don't tell me mine's getting this big

  • yes they all get big after a couple years

  • do they all get this big

  • @hippi7552 they get bigger around 2 foot(or 20 inches)

  • yes they all get big after a couple years

  • i guss it depends what type of pleco it is

  • I was told Pleco can tolerate many extremes. My pleco started out small with equally small gold fish. The goldfish grew huge and the pleco pretty much stayed small. After the goldfish died the pleco started to grow. I transitioned the tank into a guppy tank and the pleco grew still. Plecos can tolerate the cold water and ammonia of goldfish pretty well in my experience

  • no im pretty sure they need a tropical environment

  • that is awesome how many gallon tank???

  • These fish are so cool. I have one if this type as well.

  • holly hell balls

  • i have that fish too it is a janitor fish.

  • do these eat fish cuz i think it eat alot of my fishes

  • in my experience they can be territorial but they only eat dead fish.

  • i have this same one. its on the glass right now as i type this lol.

  • at the very start i thought the red light was his eye(scared the crap out of me)

  • What type of Algae Eater is that? Im looking to buy one that looks exactly like that.

  • thats a plecostomus

  • Thanks!

  • my pleco hides behind my filter don't see him much

  • When I bought my 125g it came with a very old specimen who was just over 20 inches long......... I wish i would have got a video......

  • that is not over a foot long.. that looks about 4"

  • mines is 6 years and 12 -14 inches

  • holy bags of crap!

    thats pretty big!

    nice job dude 5/5

  • thats awesome

  • lol?

  • :D thats probably the best common pleco i have seen

  • Feed him zuchinni. He'll love it.

  • I love it when they stick to the windows lol

  • my black algae eater doesnt do anything all it does is stay behind the filter

  • depends. normally they are nocturnal and comeout at night. or he's under stress, or theres other fish that could eat him.

i had 1 a long time ago, that stayed behind the filter all day, i turned off the lights, and the cichlids ate him.

  • thats what happened to me but i have guppies but my pleco still stay behind the filter

  • me to

  • thats some tight ass music you have going!!CWB HAYSTAK

  • well, i am not sure how long it would take a young pleco to achieve this size.this guy is 6 years old now; but the size of your tank(as long as its not too crowded), ensures that it may grow even larger. all ours has ever been in is a 55 gallon tank.

the dragon fish might be okay in a 20 gallon for a while, when you first get one. however, i will suggest that you dont plan on making it his permanent home. at least a 45 gallon, preferably more.

  • @gunshogypsy The greatest length is 28 inchs 0_o

  • dude

I have a 125 gallon tank with gravel and some other fish

and how fast would it grow in my tank

also want to know if ur dragonfish could live in a 20 gallon

  • Great Pleco! I have one about the same size (and 2 other babies), i was wondering how do you keep the tank clean of all the pleco poo? I use a python gravel vac but i cant use it with sand like you have (sucks it all up) and id much rather have sand than gravel.

  • we dont keep him in that tank anymore, kinda the same reason you mentioned. lots of poo and the gravel cleaner sucks away the sand too.

  • @gunshogypsy hover your vacum about 1.5in or lil more above the sand it will take the dirt w/o the sand

  • i have a hifin spotted pleco, i like the rubber lip ones too!

  • that a spotted cory?

  • No, it's a common plec

  • do i here some voltage in the backround?! im a tattoo artist too

  • i love your algae eater got anymore tips for me on getting my algae eater huge like yours?

  • i feed my algae eater the (Plecostomus)algae waffers, algae discs and other stuff like leftovers such as...flakes,pellets,algae and other stuff.

  • holy shit hes fuckin huge...whats he eat

  • other than algae waffers, anything the other fish dont finish(ie, bloodworms, flakes..)
