the lyrics in the beginning are incorrect. "You're name used to taste so sweet the you beat the love right out of me." Is the line. I am guessing you got the lyrics from a lyric website? Those are mostly sent in by people who like the band, and often have typos.
This song has two parts. Part one, is about falling helplessly and deeply in love with some one. In part two it tells of how her heart was broken by what seems to have been an abusive relationship. Both parts use the same tune only the lyrics are different. With both parts in succession it tells of a tragic love story.
