The ep '4 a-sides' which contains these tracks was the last record I bought in the 1970s - 31.12.79 in fact. An 18 year old just started at college - and who'd have guessed that three months later I'd be seeing Green et al around the squats of Camden Town where we all lived! Nice fellow.
PAs - a favourite record of all time.
My favourite Scritti music, this St Pancras stuff (but 1999's Anomie and 2006 album White Bread right up there, I have to say).
See, this is what I love about Scritti Politti. I loved the R&B/Pop era from the mid-80's that everyone's more familiar with. But since I love Punk too I can take it back to their early days and dig that too. Green is so versatile.
But why is there a pic of The Clash in the vid instead of Scritti?
And the irony is, the late 70s version of Scritti Politti were far more "punk" than The Clash could ever dream of.

Great is just defamatory and derogatory for such a masterpiece.

quite. 'very nice' certainly falls hideously short, 'fucking phenomenal' perhaps close but lets leave it at 'yum'.
