A video of you jerking around two dogs on head collars (which is a horrible idea considering the damage that can be done to a dogs neck muscles) and kicking one of them? How does that show someone how to stop their dog pulling on a lead.
@ninjakittyinmypants It's pure abuse. The dogs are in tons of pain and deathly afraid of me.
All joking aside though, I know there are other ways to teach a dog to heel because I've tried them all. This way works the best for me and the dogs I work with are happy as can be.
@ryanplays311 Obviously it isn't "abuse", as far as aversives go its fairly mild. I just don't see how it shows anyone anything useful about training dogs. Especially considering the fact that you don't mention proper use of head collars (like the fact you never jerk on them), or how to correct a dog (when it is appropriate and why). Or why you're doing anything really.. I hope that nobody watches this and tries it out.
@ninjakittyinmypants You make a great point. You shouldn't jerk on the halti like I'm doing here. These were some of the first dogs I used haltis on and it is definitely better to use a pull instead of a jerk when correcting the dog. Thanks for pointing that out.
@kegancolbert Keeping an eye on my leg is a good thing. It shows he wants to pay attention to his position. If your dogs got scared of you then you really need to tone down the intensity of the corrections.
