  • I love this so much. Amongst a lot of dark and deep tracks there's this one track that makes you want to get up and dance, yet it still means so much to me.

  • Why does the combination of script and music stir such powerful emotions. I'm certainly more a fan of sci-fi, but I would have to class BSG as emotional drama than action packed sci-fi.

  • 4 dislikers didn't dance.

  • fantastic celtic music

  • When you fight a man, he's not your friend. The same goes when you lead men.

  • LOOOVE the episode this plays in. Nothing says love like beating the crap out of each other until you have to hold each other just to remain upright. Oh pilots....

  • Jesus Christ, people..."Titanic" did not fucking invent the Celtic music genre. To this very day, whenever my own mother hears bagpipes in some show or movie's soundtrack, she goes, "Oh, it sounds just like Titanic."

    ::facepalm::

  • frakkin' awesome :) Just like most of BSG - OST

  • You can't sit still and listen to this. It's impossible. :'D

  • @6235river Indeed. I get the urge to dance when this song plays. :D

  • FUCKING LOVE THIS EPISODE

Plot: This is BSG, we have feelings, and if you must know about them we'll just beat the living shit out of each other with our bare hands while it happens.

The show takes 'touchy feely' to a new level!

  • "Wow, Kara, you literally drank Anders under the table."

  • Makes me want to take my clothes of and go dancein in the rain

  • Wanne dance? BU-YEAH! =D

  • I don't care what anyone says, thats the same piece of music as in Titanic. I think it's a nod to another great ship :-)

  • @nicoj84 It's most certainly the same song as the Titanic song. Just different versions of the same thing

  • So say you, you mean

  • Ooh, spot Holst's Jig coming through there as an influence! :)

  • Frakin' brilliant. So say we all.

  • hey guys, somebody should make a diatonic harmonica tab for this song?

  • Didn't they use this in FireFly?

  • @mrslovvet I thought they did, in the episode where Simon and River get kidnapped

  • @CatsRuleDogsAreTards No. That song is called River's Dance. It is similar but not the same thing.

  • @CatsRuleDogsAreTards I had the same thought

  • Differeng kinda music. It's my first time to hear it, :D . required by a friend.

    But it's nice!

  • "Wow. You literally drank Anders under the table."

  • This sounds like it is from Titanic.

  • Very festive music. Makes me want to drink lots of alcohol and dance!

  • This song is more celtic than most celtic in modern times.

  • Now this is awsome drinking music.

  • Now this is awsome drinking music.

  • As a Scotsman, I have to say this probably one of the best tunes I have ever heard!!! Frakking love it!

  • Yeah come on, let´s dance the "Set Dance"...

  • when people say 'i'll dance on your grave' i imagine it's to a tune like this

  • ahah this music was also in titanic! in the scene where they are dancing downstairs with the irish folks :)

  • @greysrocks25

    -

    No it wasnt. Different music.

  • @greysrocks25 actually, no, Gaelic Storm wrote the music for Titanic, while this is Bear McCreary :) it's the same type of dance music, but not the same actual tune :)

  • this just makes me feel even more connected to my ancestors. Im starting to actually like the bag pipes hmm.

  • A round a' whiskey for all of ya!!

  • Reminds me of Firefly, that episode where Mal invades Inara's fancy party.

  • Madlamb, I have to agree completely. *Raises a glass of whiskey.*

  • Thi song want me to go out and kick some cylon ass, maybe even blow out Brother Cavil's brains........

  • am loving this song!

  • THIS RockS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fucking LOVE this! It's from "Unfinished Business" one of my Top 5 favorite episodes of All-Time. SO SAY WE ALL!

  • Excuse me, I meant 'FRAKKING' LOVE THIS!

  • makes me want to grab a claymore and run around in the highlands.

  • lol

  • @mdlamb666 XD IT DOES!

  • This song was actually used in Titanic it's called "Blarney Pilgrim"

This is a great version of the original

  • No the song is actually different. I thought so too untill i heard the titanic one when I watched the movie again.

  • What the song called that they play when the 5 are involved in things, it's kind of an indian style with some guitars. Starbuck plays it on the piano.

  • It's Bear McCreary's version of All Along the Watchtower. The soundtrack for Season 4 hasn't been released yet so it doesn't have a name. On the season 3 soundtrack it's called Heeding the Call.

  • Just type in BSG all along the watchtower and you get the full Bear McCreary version. Its pretty cool. But if you want to hear what the final four were hearing than listen to Heeding the Call like Xensan76 said.

  • Master piece of music, by a master composer.

  • The similarities are negligible at best.

  • XD, Not really kinda similar. But they're used in similar moments to describe similar scenes. So it's justified.

  • wander my friends is the best! this one is second! Eire Abu.

  • Wow, I didn't even notice that at 1:15 that the original series theme music is woven in. Listen, and you can hear it.

  • wow, good find. I didn't even notice it the first time

  • wow i never noticed thats soo cool!

  • reminds me of titanic

  • celtic music is awesome.

What's the name of that slower celtic song they play during other parts of the show?

  • Admiral and Commander, or possibly reuniting the fleet.

  • Or a good lighter

  • Ah, uilleann pipes, how I adore thee so.

  • I know one thing it's like Titanic I'm waiting for Jack and Rose to turn up......

But you gotta love the music for this series the new Battlestar Galactica is a classic in every right of it's own and Bear McCreary is a great song writer/composer and nobody can take that away from him.

  • They remind you of those movies, because the music is Celtic in nature.

  • This is very much like the one in the titanic where jack and rose dance in lower decks. Braveheart is very close to this too

  • heh i was thinking that exact scene in titanic

  • Me too. Very nice music.

  • This song is an Irish reel called the Kerry Polka. It was famously in the Irish party scene from the Titanic.

  • yes the song is an Irish Reel called the Kerry Polka.

  • this is good.

but it kinda reminds me of the titanic

  • dude, buy the CD. Support Bear McCreary! He rocks!

  • why give this guys a thumb down ? He wrote the right thing.

  • Uploading songs to video sites actually helps them. More people see it and buy it if they like it.

  • Because of Turkey uploading these songs to youtube, I'm going to go and buy it from Amazon :) I have seasons 1 and 2 already.

I do, however, need to give CD's a listen before I buy them, or I'm just wasting my money.

If you like this music, go out and buy it! Bear BcCreary does rock!

  • This song is an Irish reel called the Kerry Polka. It was famously in the Irish party scene from the Titanic.

  • i knew it sounded familiar!

  • i so agree with starbuck this sooooooo good

  • I think parties on Earth would be much more fun if they were mor like the party on New Caprica

  • I agree with you.

    This song is great.

  • man thank you so much i cant seem to find aplace to download this, you wouldnt happen to know a site would you?

  • You can download it off this all you need to do is look for "how to download off youtube" on youtube and theres videos that tell you how to do it. I may be downloading it as I write this message.

  • Or just buy the CD like a respectable person... Bear McCreary deserves it doesn't he?

  • It doesn't hurt as much as you might think. Most of the people who download weren't going to buy it anyway. Also, artists don't get much of anything from record sales the big companies take most of it. Artists make most of their money from concerts and touring.

  • It's not about that. It's disrespectful. Purchasing it is a way of demonstrating your appreciation for the artist's work. I'm not going to say I've never stolen music before but I don't have lame justifications for it.

  • Normally I would agree with you but he created this music for the producers of BS:G and was paid handsomely already for his work. Besides a few DLs here and there won't bankrupt him.
