  • 1974. Atlanta, GA. Prom at Charles King's high school. This played on the radio in his Nova. Gooood memories.

  • A bit like Fleetwood Mac's City.

  • Great song. I was upset when their Greatest Hits album had an edited down version of this classic.

  • Hahaha! I've seen Santana once in of all places, Kingsville, Texas. I was about 14 yrs old. Then, (3) THREE times REO subbed for Santana at 3...count them... THREE different concerts I went to thinking I was going to see Santana. I've got pics from one of these where people were holding up THIS BUD's FOR YOU signs because they were always getting busted for pot!!! I like REO, but really!! (in response to greenwalt) lol!

  • They don't do stuff like this anymore

  • saw KL last summer..wonderful show..so mellow..I just love this sound...esp.this song .

  • That was me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 又又、聴いたよ!~ジム・メッシーナの強力パキパキピッキングミュート技~ロギンス&メッシーナ"アングリー・アイズ"~浮遊の7分間

  • Does anyone out there have Loggins & Messina "On Stage" album to upload Golden Ribbons?? Perfect song for our time again now. Please, someone check it out...the version with your mama don't dance/golden ribbons 45rpm I won't even try...It's a very emotional song for our Military and the ultimate sacrifice! ♥♫

  • God bless youtube. I was in a CVS and heard the last minute and remembered what a great song this is. Came home and listened to it on the computer. So many songs in my 51 years that I forget even exist.

  • Real musicians playing instruments and harmonizing! How refreshing

  • Great music!!

  • Amen, journey! Thanks for this spectacular song. I love the alto sax, too!!!

  • you can hear every guitar player he's ever played with or heard.

jimmy messina is the real deal.

  • compression!

  • That's what's wrong with the world today.....No music like the days when we were younger, and listened to musicians like these.....Ah, to live those days again.....Loggins and Messina were SO TALENTED, and their music and others led us on to peace and beauty.......GO FLOWERPEOPLE !!!

  • 出たぞ!、ジム・メッシーナのパキパキギター、"アングリー・アイズ"、サックスのあとのギターソロは神業ミュートピッキングの大サービス!~すげーゼ!

  • Great song. A classmate of my 6th grade sister brought in this song to show her class. The assignment was to bring in a good song. Great taste for a 6th grader.

  • Its all called the radio edit. Radio is going back to it. If it dont go under 3 min radio does not like it. So story songs and jams like these get shoved aside in favor of the neat little songs you have today. I dont like it too much but it is what it is. But hey nobodys stopping me from going back in time are they.

  • I sure can hear Poco in this with Messinas playing.

  • it's called a jam. they used to do that. they don't much do that now because they don't have the talent, and the few times they do - they don't know what to do with it.....music is so lousy now....

telling a fuckin' story is a concept way beyond most fucking youngsta's...and not so young. do it now, and people think yer a fuckin' genius....

  • beautiful harmony balance.

  • Love this,Great stuff,Back when A&R/Radio,Major Record Labels

really cared, and helped Young and up and coming musicians.

Back when Music was what mattered.A time when People bought records and enjoyed it.What ever happened to those days??

  • Just a mind blowing song...

  • Does anybody hear similarities to the Rolling Stones song Can't You Hear Me Knocking, released a year before this?

  • @robin14669 Yeah, it is similar to "Can't You Hear Me Knockin'" . I'm surprised that hadn"t picked up on that before. Good ear, Robin. Respect from Michigan. Power to the Peaceful.

  • 7 people have angry eyes

  • didn't can remain together for life!

  • This song is a shining example of why '70's music is unparelled when it comes to pure quality.

  • Great every time

  • @ 1:32 there is a PERFECT example of 3/4 against 4/4 which shows you all rhythm is on the ONE!

  • @Pirahnahead313 Actually, it's a 3/4 bar then a 5/4 bar, which keeps the flow of the 4/4 but phrases on the "1" of the 5/4 (or relative "4" of the 8-beat flow). ;-)

  • @Pirahnahead313 Actually, it's still in 4/4. The accent notation is just shifted by the drummer to make it feel like 12/8 in countertempo.

  • I wonder what kind of music the "dislikes" like. It has to be really lame.

  • @234helenrose i believe they like the sound of wallpaper turning yellow.

  • I understand what this song is now after being married! I am glad to be single now. God Bless anyone who has found the other half!

  • AWESOME SONG FROM THE 70'S

  • i think it was 1977? nwhen i saw loggins and messina in Evansville, IN. Michael murphy opened up with "Wildfire" great concert. been a fan ever since. these boys can rock. DON'T YOU LET ME CATCH YOU STAYING IN A HOLIDAY HOTEL

  • me too! love this song

  • Thanks to Sirius radio for turning me on to this blues tune......:)

  • 7 people need glasses

  • @jferg7159 and hearing aides, too.

  • Anyone notice how similar this is the long version of the Stones' "Can't You Hear Knockin'?" Both terrific jams.

  • I love the way they come back in at 6:50

  • the intro of this song kicks ass

  • man.....that's the stuff. the bass player....

see kids? that's called The Pocket. check it out some time...

  • One of the best songs of the 70s! Watch out for those angry eyes. Have you been married?

  • This was such a SUPER band. Another great L&M tune is Move On.

  • when music was good and when my age was single digit lol

  • great song...there best song period!

  • They made some great music.

Angry Eyes stands alone as their best song.

  • Jim was the brains and talent behind the operation. Kenny showed what he was worth in his solo career.

  • Great Tele guitar work by Jim Messina...underrated player.

  • @Blkojo He sure was. Great bridge at around 5:00

  • Who wouldn't remember this oldie?

  • wow!! I'm freaking old because this has been one of my fav songs for almost 40 FREAKING YEARS!!!!!! Makes me want to smoke one to make all the pains in this geezer body go away. Think I will!!

  • @maninthemoon09 Fire that sucker up and pass it this way. It's been awhile. Good song for it!

  • @maninthemoon09 well man in the moon, i used to have a giant 4' by 8' canvas poster of the movie man on the moon. and i went to see loggins and macina in 1973. R.E.O. was supposed to be there, but something happened to them, so logins &macina played all night! and i met the couple sitting next to me, and found out that they only lived a couple streets over from me, so we smoked opium and became good friends!

  • @m1kewithaone nice!!!

  • @greenwalt1954 correction, that was R.E.O. SPEEDWAGON that didn't show up, and the opium was a glob of black stuff that we would break off a chunck and put in the pipe. it was a good time to be had by all...

  • @maninthemoon09 Right on!!!! Take a hit 4 me

  • @maninthemoon09 lol...pass it on brother and no sidetracking!

  • @maninthemoon09 Roll a big fatty and you will be ok!

  • @maninthemoon09

LOL! Don't do the stuff I did then, but I hear ya with the sentiment! Old geezerness especially, ha!

  • @maninthemoon09 hell to the yea.

  • came back from nam Kenny and Jim were waiting for me

  • Excellent post. Thank you. I love the way Jimmy M. picks the guitar. Great song.

  • Great song BigDave706. Thanks for posting it!

  • saw them on long island NY, nassau coliseum 74-75 don't remember much but jim had a broken arm w/ a cast on and they smoked that joint (lol) i'll never forget that concert

  • jo23juoarjgklandfblkjn SOOOO good

  • one of the best guitar riffs to ever start a song right here... I just listened to Dick Armey make an ass of himself spouting nonsense on social security as a guest on Spitzer Parker/CNN... what a jerk... he should be barred from intelligent television. What he said made absolutely no sense at all, it made no economic sense and it was a far cry from the reality of everyday workers everywhere... who spawned that monster into the public arena -- horrendous!

  • I agree...to this day, this duo did the best concert I saw in my youth. But fast foward almost 40 years, and I can tell ya....Jimmy Messina can still put on a great concert.

  • Ilike how they come back in singing right on the dot,,, hours into the song.....nice.

  • Just plain cool!

  • It's amazing how the masses look upon this band as a bad top 40's flash in the pan from the 70's. This is one of the most Sophisticated instrumental ensembles of their time! For this band to do "your mamma don't dance & your pappa don't rock & roll" was probably one of their worst decisions. Pathway to Glory is a prime example of the genius of these two individuals. Oh yeah, who can't forget "Be Free" & "Changes". get the albums! but don't buy the best of...

  • @immovable1 Whoa there, lil fellah ... Forget to take your meds today?

  • wow, im 16 years old. I have been opening myself up to all new types of music, so i was just clicking random videos and found this tune.

    Its sooooooo amazing!

Now this is what you call real music =)

  • Their talent knew no end. Wish the new generation of rock could crank out some stuff like this.

  • Brilliant stuff !!

    (Listened many times ...)

  • Mercy, I love this song. The words are so awesome. I love the energy and rhythm on this one somethin' fierce!!

  • love this song, has a ton of meaning for me in it!!!

  • when that bass line snakes around the bottom of this song, oh, man...just makes me so grateful to have been alive in the same breath as these boys..thank you Jimmy Messina..you are. You are, the best.

  • To: cindygibbsbarfield

It looks like the sax player is Lester "Al" Garth.

  • @JhonMason thanks, I love the sax. I was suprised to find out that Jr Walker from Jw and the Allstars was the studio saxaphone player on the tune Urgent by Foreigner.. Small world, He'd never even heard of Foreigner..LOL have a great day.

  • who is the sax player?

  • seem's like yesterday, hanging out in ojai mother lode ranch, great times as a kid and have them practice next farm, ranch over!

  • whats the name of da song that goes "Witchy (Whichy?) Ty Ty, Witchy Ty ty..." ??? i cant find it anywhere! and trust me i looked!

  • What harmony, these guys were and are great performers. We're extremly lucky to be able to enjoy all genres. Saw KL last summer , excellent show at an outdoor venue, very smooth all night long.....

  • Man if this dont take you back to the good old days of sex n drugs n rock n roll nothin will! Thanks so much for posting this classic! I feel 16 again!

  • great song. ty again

  • how do u get the link or put it on your fb

  • My favorite Loggins and Messina song. Smooth all the way through.

  • who in the world coudn't dig this? LOL

  • Is that Jim Messina playing the first guitar solo? So melodic and haunting, the tone is awesome...

  • come on all you old but goodies, rock on! gotta move to this one! LOVE IT!

  • so glad i heard this on the radio, now im addicted to it

  • still a great tune !!!

  • i knew if i waited patiently, my prayers would be answered, i had this great cut stolen from my collestion years ago, many thanks bigdave 706 & you tube

  • Just saw these guys in concert in Seattle last month. EXCELLENT show. I hadn't ever heard Angry Eyes - but I LOVED it. Great song. Some of these artists that have been around for years and years have so much material out there, so much I've just missed. Thank goodness for YouTube ;)

  • This album, On Stage, got me through high school . . . : )

  • Saw them at the ??? in St. Louis in Mid 70's, not kiel but a smaller venue, 2000 seats max. Excellent!

  • @littlemiamijeff That was probably "The Fox" theatre.

  • My parents are at there concert right now :)

  • Saw them a few weeks ago @ Casino Windsor. Great Show!!!

  • great song

  • this is the smoothest music i have ever heard! Angry Eyes makes me wish i could shoot lasers out of my own eyes!

  • I saw these two in Hawaii in about 1975...I remember it as the best concert I have ever been to in my life...they just rocked...it was like being transported or transformed or transfixed...something about their chemistry. Wow.

  • @mamasitashelby .. I was at the same concert.. Wasn't it their goodbye tour>??Don't remember now..The HIC was the best place to see a concert...even back row was a pretty good seat...I know it's now the Blaisedell center, but I still remember it as the HIC...

  • @mamasitashelby yeah i saw that tour in portland or, billy swan, chris christoferson and rita coolidge, my girlfriend had to drag me by the hair,, one of the best shows i ever saw,,

  • @mamasitashelby Are you talking about the drugs? lolol

  • "Thank you a'Big Dave" for having this on up!"

  • I saw these guys in Memphis before I really knew anything about them. I think they had one song on the radio, and of course, Ann Murray covering "Danny's Song." The auditorium was only half full. Loggins came out by himself and did an accoustic set. As he and Jim started Angry Eyes the rest of the band came out as their parts came on. I have maintained that this was the best concert I have ever witnessed.

  • i got drunk with loggins and his band...atlantic city nj 2007....love this song...(in a casino bar very late..)

  • I grew up with this song. I listened to this over and over as a teenager. My older brother played it on his guitar. I later followed Kenny Loggins music. I love the jazzz and folk rock. Awesome song.

  • I have a playlist I often listen to and I invariably find my way back to this gem - go figger!

  • Saw them the 21st at Woodstock. Both

    Poco and L & M were AMAZING.

You are in for a treat.

  • awesome goin 2 see them august 25

  • i loves the 70s.

  • Saw L&M in '76, '77 during the last stop on their farewell tour in Hawaii, and the amazing ability of seeing Al Garth, a great saxaphonist, play two saxes at once.

    A memory for the ages.

  • Good music really is timeless - anything out there to compare in today's market? Not in popularity, but style - it almost has a jazz sharing quality about it.

  • Funky, love it!

  • One of the best intro's EVER!

  • The bassist, Larry Simms, is a friend of mine here in Coal Creek Canyon, CO and I gotta say he is one hella player....good dude too...wish we could jam more often

  • Larry Simms has the voice of an angel. I wish he was 'sittin in' with the boys this time around. They are coming to Seattle in November. It would be heaven if he was playing with them.

  • i seen them backing up the mac afte rumors. i got to say they ROCKED,and was better than fleetwood.

  • well it aint maddonna or britney god what are we going to do ! wcf

  • I was lucky enough to be born during this time. The music was so electric. I loved these guys. I saw their last concert together at Veterans Coliseum on Long Island, NY. The show included Heart, John Sebastian and Loggins and Messina. It was Heart's debut performance and Loggins and Messina's last. What a paradox and what a show. They rocked the place until after midnight. Memories. This song was jamming.

  • One of my favorites over the years....those two made some fantastic music together...and, of course, I have loved Kenny and followed him for years...I'll be seeing the two of them soon together which is SO great!!!

  • nice recording...what a great tune...honest american music...glad im old enough to remember what that was....rock on

  • Thanks Bigdave706, alot!!!!

  • Check out Summer breeze a Seals & Crofts song by Type O Negative.Throw some Goth into the fire.

  • I cannot bring myself to actually enjoy that cover.

It's such a weird cover for such a chill song

  • I love the jazzy feel to this song...great solo's!

    thanks for posting

  • This is sweet. The jam is bang on. I have loved this for thirty years. Thanks for posting.

  • Jimmy M kicks ass,an underated guitar man!

  • There's an acoustic version of this song that's even better (if that's possible). Look for it.

  • God I love this song. My personal all time favorite of theirs, but they just have so much talent and so it was hard to finally pick one but this is it.

  • For all the pop stuff they did (albeit, well-produced pop stuff) these guys cranked out some great music together. Nothing was better than their blues/rock jam numbers like this one!

  • "Great track, Kenny Loggins blends a lot of different musical genre's, thus, making a totally unique style that is his own!"

  • what the heck r u talking about. i say good job uploading a great song. who needs vid?

  • I have enjoyed all of your selections. Thanks.

  • Sounds like kenny loggins and poco...and quicksilver messenger service mid-70's. sounds unique.

  • if you want a great war protest song, check out golden ribbons

  • it some how reminds me of Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, Dark Star

  • Messina worked with Buffalo Springfield

  • their best song. great opening licks as stated below.

  • this opening riff is one of rock and rolls often imitated but never duplicated. when you here it , you stop and remember with a smile where you were in the 70's

  • Great song.

  • Great band. I saw them twice in concert in the 70s. Kansas opened for one show. L&M always had exceptional musicians; guys that could play more than one instrument. Al Garth played the fiddle and the sax. Jon Clarke played sax and flute. Jim Messina played guitar, dobro and could play the crap out of the mando. I'm still trying to figure out his mandolin parts. Kenny Loggins played guitar and wicked blues harp. Listen to Be Free and hear him crank it. He also produced most of the L&M songs.

  • Actually luthierboy, it was JIMMY who produced the albums, not Kenny, but you are correct about everything else

  • Real music played by real musicians. Great vocals as well. Nuff said.

  • The best concert that I ever saw was Loggins and Messina. The show they put on was tremendous and their band was fantastic. Ah yes....those were the days, for sure.

  • You and I must start to realize

blindness binds us together in the foster skies.

Can you see me through those Angry Eyes?I Love this song!too bad the "long songs "of FM radio went the way of te vinyl LP!

  • Uh, it's "blindness binds us together with a false disguise"

  • Great introduction!

  • Thanx for posting this! I've been looking all over the place for this song. What a great rock/blues/jazz song!
