  • Beautiful song! Love how they marched up and I like the color of their robes. I want to hear more songs by this choir, what name should I look for? Thanks for posting.

  • Thanks for posting this video!

In 2009 I started a discussion about Black Church Services on an international online dicussion forum called Mudcat:This was one of the videos that I referred people to as an example of African church processions.

Although I no longer post to that forum,, new comments can be added by guests or members. I also posted this video today on my jambalayah Central African music page. I love the choir's sound, spirit, & pagentry. -an African American sista

  • @Afroguy1654

    lol!

I thoroughly enjoyed taking part in a lot of African culture!

    It was a great experience!

  • Oh my goodness, that was awsome! Hello to my brothers and sisters in Christ from across the way! The harmony is great, I have no idea what you're saying but I know that God is universal and He is great all the time in every situation. I love the marching. Keep on praising Him and God bless you and your congregation.

  • @praisehymn247

    God surely is universal...

I am no longer in Angola unfortunately, but I am sure that they are still marching!

    =)

  • Actually there isn't....

They had to split up the service into two separate services because the congregation was too large and this particular day, oddly enough, there weren't very many people in the (I believe this was the afternoon?) service.

But, um, thanks for the two cents worth?

    God bless.

  • They sound so nice the harmoney is right on time.

  • Absolutely beautiful and harmonious!

  • WTF!!!

  • if you don't enjoy choir music you probably shouldn't be listening to it....

  • I know...it's so true! I can't wait to return to Angola someday! I miss everyone there like crazy! I am quite sure that living in Anogla was the best year of my life by far!

  • Love those harmonies! What a beautiful way praise the Lord!

  • Keep singing and living for the Lord for whatever u do in His Name, you shall recieve a just reward from Him, pray and ignore any Ignorant comments from any savage source for they are the works of the devil, soon to recieve their just reward in hell for all eternity.

  • leopolditho-u r as u thinketh, so what does that make u?

  • nice harmony!!!

  • excellent harmony!!! Praise God. The scripture says every knee shall bow and every tongue confess. Amen!!

  • different to me but seems cool!

  • Really powerful stuff.

Good to see that people all over the world, go to the churches, heeding the good word as it were.

Like others here, I'd really like to hear more of these choirs. Where do they march from I'd also like to ask?

And what are the lyrics to this hymn, and its roots and so on.

    Good luck from Liverpool.

  • I should really post more of my videos of them...

We would march into the church from outside actually.

    The lyrics are,

""A-O-A, A-O-A, Cu ma ma. A-O-A, A-O-A Cu ma ma (repeat)Jesus Cristo e um criador, Jesus Cristo e um salvador (repeat)"

It's actually not a hymn it is just a "march" and the second part means "Jesus Christ is the creator, Jesus Christ is a saviour."

  • Thanks for the explanation and the lyrics.

It would be good to see more videos of a similar nature.

    Good luck with the music.

  • Thanks :)

  • hey this was great, I really enjoyed this one...

  • Thanks...I really enjoyed experiencing it!

  • I don't know what they're singing but they sound lovely

  • thanks :)

  • wow amazing this seems like the real apostolic church and in Africa, I'm proud, and their good singers too

  • It was a really fun choir to be in. Such a wide range of singers!

  • Wow you all sound great!

  • Thanks :)

  • Hello.

That is really good, it must have been quite an experience singing with them.

I would love to try this song with my choir. Do you know what the words are?

  • It was SUCH an experience! I actually do know the words...(I can't spell them exactly, but I will write them as they sound)

"A-O-A, A-O-A, Cu ma ma. A-O-A, A-O-A Cu ma ma (repeat)Jesus Cristo e um criador, Jesus Cristo e um salvador (repeat)"

  • That's great, I will transcribe that and use it in England. If a trascription is any use to you please let me know.

    Many thanks,

    Martin

  • Cool! If your choir does this would you please make a video! I would love to see it!

  • Yes I will do, although these things happen quite slowly.....

  • Ok no problem!

  • Sounds like they're saying A Yaweh Cu ma ma.

Amazing that the choir is nearly the entire congregation....not something you see often, if at all, in the European or American churches....lucky if you can get a 1 out of every 100 people coming to mass to sing in a choir in the USA.

  • yeah maybe? I am not too sure, I think it's great that the youth are really involved!

  • praise god is this africa?

  • Yes! Namibe, Angola, Africa!

  • amazing !!

do you live there ? or do u visit a lot ?

  • I lived there for almost a year! I can't wait to get back someday. My family were missionaries there.

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!! :} delaney xxxxx

  • thanks...

  • that was pretty awesome

  • It was really fun being in the choir!
