Pretty Cool lesson here, Covers the topic quite well. Ive just made a bunch of detailed courses for beginners and advanced guitarists that you might be interested in. Check it out! would love to know what you and anyone watching this video thinks. Its totally free, and i mean TOTALLY
when I first started learning I only ever used alternate picking which was great in a way but now if I try to just down pick I really suffer, I firmly believe PRACTISE EVERYTHING even if you think it is not challenging you just do it anyway
Why only down strokes Marty? Wouldn't you want your students to work on their alternate picking at the same time? IMHO, it's never to early to add or start making that a nature part of your playing.
one step at a time, you can't think about too many things at once! of course you want to alternate your picking but sometimes you have to lay some ground work first.
Marty was born to play the blues , you can see he loves it. It is a type of music that takes great effort and practise to accomplish a sound..Good blues sounds easy but is always nearly hard to play..Good to see you Marty thx for your time and insight dude..Peace

That triplet phrasing was a huge revalation for me a few years back. I said "that's why my licks are not in the pocket" .
