At last!!! A conductor who don't change the beat at section that begins at 1.52 in that video when basses do 4tuplets!! that helps to create more contrast!! Thanks
Switching from a very rapid 3 and 4 pattern to a moderate 2 creates much more contrast than keeping it the same. It really changes the mood of the work. The low voices are the most important there, they are basically the new meter, so in my opinion you should conduct it as such.
the sound quality isnt that good, but you guys did an awesome job. im in my high school's band and we're doing this song for our spring concert. nice job keeping up with those rhythms. they're killer.
This sounds better than a lot of college bands might play this piece! Besides a few brass problems, this is such a great performance for high school! Congrats!!
problems with all the brass actually! ending section is interesting with lots of split horn notes but to be honest the fact you tackled this piece and got the rhythm spot on in a high school group is outstanding. Respect.
The horns do pretty well in this i'd say, except for the bit around 3:35 onwards...haha! the glisses are good though near the beginning. Overall really good in my opinion.
Wow...this isn't an easy piece. For a high school group to perform this, it's actually incredible. Some problems with the trumpets, but heck, like I said, this piece is not easy. GOOD JOB!!!

@1337evan In fact, this has happened. We now have a beautiful 600 seat theater and practice facilities the school district put $20 mil into.

I would love to see that high school band try Gershwin's "Cuban Overture." They just might be able to do it.
