  • "Why are we here, are you crying?" "We Turned Mom in." "What are you talking about?" "For doing drugs." "Mom doesn't do drugs, you are lying." "Yes she does, that's what those needles you keep finding are for." "I don't want her to go to jail, we won't have a place to go." "Paul, we live in a broken house with no electricity or water, anything will be better than that." "No. She's my mom, don't I get a say in this too?" "No." "Well can't I see her? She doesn't even know where we are?" "No."
  • wow. I feel bad for all the people who have the horrible memories connected to this song. I never had that ,considering I only grew up with one parent.

  • If you look at the album cover, it's the image of a kid sitting on his bed looking depressed. Perfectly goes with this song.

  • haha Steven in the background

  • brb crying

  • This song hit home some hard. I'm in tears.

  • The way I hear it, It remind's me of Me and My dad when he's drunk and were fighting..Dad I really do love you, But please why did you have to chase mom away from us?...even though she wanted nothing to do with us I coulda still been able to smile, knowing you guys would be together..

  • this shit makes me want to punch my step dad in the fucking face

all the shit he put us through

    i love you mom

never again will another man do what he did to us

im older and can fight for all of us now

if youve been through similar shit know that myheartgoesouttoyou

if i could be there to save you all i would

but we're stronger as a unit keep smiling we'll get them back one day!!!!!

  • This entire album, to me, speaks and sounds like my entire last relationship from start to end. This song in particular reminds me of when we started fighting and everything turned into a conflict. When it was obvious that there was only attachment left but no love. And then look at the track following this, "The Haunted", and it's lyrics. It all speaks for itself. Best album I've ever heard as a whole <333333 MMF<3

  • A prime example of music speaking louder than words, it amplifies the tones of voices, but not of witch they are saying.

  • the worst arguments in my house are just the regular small ones....but i feel sorry for the ppl who acctually have ones like this like my cousins and i consider myself lucky

  • it's the burden of emotional stress. the burden of argument and anxiety in an otherwise calm situation. every song on this album is perfectly named, and every lyric is important to the entire work.

  • Innocent kid sitting in his/her room listening to their mom/dad fighting in the living room, muffled. Music may represent self-defense mechanism in his/her mind to cool down the situation in his/her mind. Gah.

  • Love this song so much

  • Wow this is intense. I wanna' make something to this tier of music.

  • This song says/explains so much, even though it doesn't even say anything.

  • Chills.

  • i just listened to this 4 times in a row about to go on the 5th...for a song with no singing and just a big argument, this is a verrry deep song

  • HER VACUUM CLEANER IS BROKEN!!!!

  • hey guys i made a music video for the burden interlude by memphis may fire plz check it out on my channel or use this /watch?v=rtzO_hM1nGA pls rate comment and subscribe and dont forget to like this comment.pls just take a sec to check it out thnx.

  • 4 words...

    Brought me to tears.

  • its just make me .. dreaming around

1 of the best songs ^^

  • One of the only songs that touches people and stops the shit talking for a few minutes on YouTube.<3

  • Comment removed

  • Its like this in my house, except everyones screaming at the top of their lungs. It never ends.

Touching song. It brought tears to my eyes..

  • @xSubconsciously Same dude :/

  • this reminds me of my parents fighting when I was pretending that I was asleep and I was like..8-9 years old.

They've broken up years now...but this song reminds me a lot of them o.o

    however,its great..

  • @UltraFailzor i would say thats a good flashback to have, i like it when that happens too me.

  • Can you guys thumbs up my comment so other people can see my

drum remix to this song? I'd really appreciate it :)

    /watch?v=_mg0QPgArAE

I've been playing for 1 year now.

  • It must be me, or is it just nearly impossible to listen to this song without a strong sense of emotion coursing through you. It is amazing what the awesome power of music is capable of bringing forth in the complex human beings that we are.

  • It's fascinating, that a simple song can trigger such an emotion in people.

This song is so absolutely touching and expressive. It seems like you're in the middle of this conversation, feeling the anger and the tense situation.

  • @Perium01 SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU GAY DICK CHOMPER!

  • This made me want to cry.

  • I don't know what it is, but something makes me want to keep on replaying this song. <3

  • Yea it's about a vacuum but the point is how it starts from something little turning into something much worse. Beyond the vacuum... -.- like this video starts with meaning then ends up with a bunch of low life pricks talking shit. Gtfo

  • honestly. this song has givin me new hope in life. who could come up with something so savage yet so beautiful at the same time. fuckin sick ass song. imma make a rap to this shit i swear to god

  • @crazyd305 the first time i read this i was like wooooooooo! 'like' then the next day ooooooooooo 'like' and now, like a week after reading the comment origionally, i still love it and wanted to let you know :ppp

  • @h3ll18 I FEEL LOVED lol thankyou xD

  • what song is this combined with?

  • I think this song is trying to show us the viewpoint of a child whos hearing his or her parents discusing. the song makes me remember the felling when two persons that you love scream each other.

the song makes me feel so emo too lol

anyway, it is so beautiful, so expresive.

amazing song, i expected no less of memphis may fire \m/

  • How can this song have such an emotional effect on a 20 year old man? This is the definitely of Emo. Music that captures your emotions.

  • Im pretty sure the argument was about a broken vaccum cleaner from what I heard in the first 20 seconds

  • @buffalobill507

I definitely heard the word vacuum cleaner.

  • This song makes me think about my girl--- actually, she's not my girlfriend. But we love each other, a lot. She always thinks that she's a burden on me, and sometimes I think I'm a burden on her. And sometimes, it angers me. It angers me because she is the best thing to happen to me. I just feel like I'm a burden on her... I don't deserve her. Memphis May Fire, amazing song. <3

  • but this is dirt.

  • oh no the vaccuum cleaner broke

  • 7 people should be in that convosation, and 605 should be out of it

  • I used to hate my parents. But if you just take a minute and think about how God has blessed by putting them in your life... I know it changed everything for me.

  • Many things in my life have apparently distracted me from school assignments. Which bring my grades down. And so my dad punishes me by grounding me for a week or so for one missing assignment.

"I'm doing the best I can" what a burden...

  • i lost my dad 10 years ago this song brings a fuckin feelin that i never felt before, since he died i lost my personality i build a fortress within me so i can bear his death, i became aggresive to my family still 10 years after that i feel so empty and i blame only my self for that i harmed my family with my personality and i dont to do that anymore thank all of you for listening to me although my english its not too good

  • @stormheart11 kinda the same for me bro except i hate my parents im chinese i left everyone in china when i was 8 months old and moved here. i only saw my grandfather on my mothers side 5 times before he died of lung cancer.

  • This band...can truely open ones eyes. this song easpicialy reminds me of my bad past, my struggles, the ppl ive been decieved by, how life can allways be that one BITCH but you gotta keep strong and too allways remember youre never alone, too be strong, well thats what this song makes me feel inside, that no matter what theres allways hope at the end of the road. dunno if im the only one who thinks so tho.

  • @naruto95559 oh i know what you mean believe me. I know life can be a bitch. i know., ive had hardships like my abusive druggy step dad (song really reminds me of him) hes out of the picture now thank god, my real dad dying of cancer, my mom going through cancer, and much more . I deffinitly had a hard past but so have you and alot of other people. we must go through these hardships and through these hardships we go through we come out stronger. sorry if i just completely copied your comment.

  • i can listen to this forever.

  • This reminds me of the fighting with my mom and step dad and my divorced parents fighting . Ive delt with it all my life and I've been through an ex step dad who was an asshole and got infuriated over my elbows on the table. Now it's better with my current step dad and there is still fighting. I've been putting up with the sounds of fighting for all my life.

  • @JippysProfoundings

    your vacuum must have broke

  • im half of the views.....

  • rise records got lucky with this group....they are jsut so good i found out about them close to a week ago and would not be able to get the songs out of my head even if i wanted to *i dont XD* once i get back on my itunes im getting this album! i think there cd's should be gold not plastic

  • I think it's funny, that I'm listening to this song...right after this exact conversation happened. My parents were screaming at me saying That I don't try hard enough, that it's my fault about everything. They don't know that I'm trying, I'm trying the best I can, but it's not enough for them. It never is. I just want to give up. I want to live MY life. Not THEIR dreams. I don't care. I just screamed that at them soo many times. Can't they just understand? I'm sick of this. I'm sick of them....

  • @SquirtlexPenguin same here bro i know that feel

  • @ghostguy you have to be gay

  • @TehWesc ;D

  • @TehWesc You have go to be Homophobic

  • biggest goosebumps ever!!

  • I don't think words can definitively express the flood of thoughts and emotions alot of us feel when listening to this song. Whether you relate to this song or not, it doesn't matter. That feeling we get while we sit quietly and listen unites us all. It's a feeling that can make us want to erase hate, a feeling that can make us awaken. Keep doing what you are doing MMF, you've got a life long fan in me.

  • Is the argument in the background about someone not cleaning their room...?

  • its pretty amazing that even though like no one here understands the words to the conversation, everyone recognizes the negative and aggressive energy from what sounds like an argument, which compliments the verry mellow electronic music. id honestly rather not know the words to the argument, but let the argument as background noise speak for itself.

  • @crazyd305 Deep Shit Bro, Some Deep Shit..

  • @crazyd305 I think it has more affect without the actual words. It kind of (Well, for me at least) makes me relate to times I've heard arguments like this.

  • red jumpsuit apparatus comment needs to be deleted..it's gonna suck the awesomeness out of this song.

  • Memphis May Fire has yet to disappoint me.

  • is it legal to be this raw? oh and dont like this comment, dont give a fuck everyone else

  • @heribertoigueldo24 How'd you do that?

  • @FuckRawrkittens do what?

  • I don't know if it's just me but.. this song somehow makes me relax and calm down. It's puts me in a chilled state of mind. I love it. So easy to relate to. Thanks guys.

  • seriously the only band ever to capitalize on a couple fighting. makes this conversation/dispute seem beautiful, yet disturbing and relatable.... absolutely astonishing.... great job mmf

  • @underoath2010 What about Face Down by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus? No, they're not hardcore, but that song is about couples (:

  • Dear Memphis May Fire, You guys are simply amazing at making beautiful music.-3

    Enough said.

  • id like to apologize, my vocabulary isn't wide enough to describe how amazing you guys are and how much you guys won me over.. best of luck to you guys, hope your music spreads faster than a viral disease in Africa

  • This deserves more views.

  • this is a song of music, beautiful music, of which that music makes emotion. Through that emotion, you understand lyrics and make lyrics, lyrics that make you think. Think of what you have done. Think about how beautiful this is, the most beautiful thing ever. that is what a true band can make you do, even without their own lyrics.

  • In the beginning she's saying;

"I'm doing the best I can, what do you want from me?"

Just thought you should know cause I like turtles.

  • @aree93 dude! I like turtles too!

  • Comment removed

  • @GodsGuy9795 Oh, awesome! They're cool!

  • @aree93 I know! They're the best!

  • All of this for a stupid vaccum cleaner. =l

  • this is one of those bands where every one of their songs if simply amzing

  • I just fucking love this band.

  • I heard "You broke the vaccum cleaner" o_O

  • @TheDrummerDude121 Hahahahaha, so did I.

  • that person really doesn't care

  • Comment removed

  • I love this song but I wanna hear what they are saying :c

  • are there any other songs like this that are not by this band?

  • @stevenmertes mabey memorial by bring me the horizon, sleepwalker by a skylit drive, if your looking for something with like an ambient sort of atmosphere but stlll a song listen to vaulted celiengs by MMF, my understandings by of mice and men and bottom feeders by for the fallen dreams

  • @enemyAC130abovee thanks man

  • jeez i want to here the conversation.

  • The vacuum broke.

  • "I've done the best i can, what do you want from me" </3 that opening line is so sad :'(

  • Iv'e listened to every one of their songs atleast twice today, :)

  • @Snoiee what a horrible fan you are!! lol

  • This band is my inspiration. One of these days i'm getting a tattoo in honor of this band.

  • if you guys like this song check out this one i wrote at MrCJohnson11 Lexi's Gift

  • sounds like burdens at my home

  • @crazydrummer871 Thats very saddening. That happened alot in my house when I was growing up, and I feel really guilty I didnt step in :(

  • Does anyone have audio enhancing software...?

  • MMF is starting to grow on me, not like a virus, ut like a flower, everyday, growing and hopefully 1 day to blossom <3

  • @IPimpGrandmas sooooo cheesy

  • @dreamtertainment lol yups except my friend was being a dick and wrote that but whatever its pointless trying to explain to you.

  • This album is gold. Its like every song is telling a story, and this explains kinda what is goin on. like a bad father and wierd romance, this is kinda about someone who is struggling with life with family and more.

  • @superbunnylover12432 Hell yes. Its been a long time since I've liked every song in an album. These guys are just epic.

  • @superbunnylover12432 i was thinking around the lines of abusive husband, i completely agree with you though, but its not gold, its silver, platinum, diamond, pure silk, i listened to this song just after a fight with the person i love the most in this world and i felt so bad about the things i said to her

  • Anybody have any idea what they r saying?

  • The voices you hear are a couple arguing and the band recorded them. I asked the band lol

  • @SaltTheWoundx Lol if you listen its a young man and an older man (father possibly)and "he also says go up to your room now!". Either this is a pedo-gay couple or MMF sat at the mans house and watch them argue. ;P Just sayyinn xD

  • @BestdropthempantsxD lol! yeah its a pedo and a kid. I asked them on their facebook and they replied saying it was a couple so Idk :\

  • i fucking love this.

  • there's no other band that i can actually connect to like i can with Memphis May Fire. thank you guys and i can't wait to see you guys on saturday on the Rock Yourself To Sleep Tour.

  • this + RainyMood = super relaxing.

  • "Im doing the best I can!"

Those words literally made me cry. :'(

  • this song gives me the shivers.simply beautiful.<3

  • i love this.

it makes me feel like i'm going through flashbacks of my hardest times.

i hate it, but its so.. idk.

    GOOD?

  • @DANTHE4MAN ur right i does

  • Comment removed

  • This reminds me of so many nights of arguements on both sides of the wall. @memphismayfire keep making music like this. Not many left are making music that is so personal anymore.

  • i fell sad now =*(

    good song

  • this song has no words out there in front but it's so sad fro some reason brings back tons of memories

  • gives me chills

  • I'm doing the best I can.

  • the boy arguing is like 5 yrs old - should've been Mullins instead

  • I want to cry this bring me so much memories

  • I only usually get chills from songs with heavy breakdowns and good vocals. But this? This made me a fucking ice-cube.

  • The atmospheric presence this song brings with it.. I literally need to stop what I'm doing and just take it in. So many ambiguous messages, so many horrifically sad meanings that come with this, yet no lyrics. It makes me feel empty, like I have no purpose in life. Well done MMF, only a few bands have ever been able to succeed in making me feel empty through their music. <3

  • You never really hear yourself arguing with your parents it makes you think of the times you do and kind of made me sad. But this video feels so real everyone can relate. Love this Album.

  • @TheAnonymousDeath Dude, You're completely right, lol, this made me cry! :'(

  • listening to this song for the first time is a pretty intense experience... I truly missed those feelings of getting goosebumps over and over and when you nearly about to cry.

the whole album is a masterpiece - but expressing such strong emotions with an INSTRUMENTAL SONG... this is, what makes memphis may fire godlike.

  • I'm sorry man..

  • Not all songs need lyrics to be perfect. This is the perfect example of this.

  • Why did this make me cry??

  • This song's harder for me to listen to than Terrible Things by Mayday Parade; and that song's sad...for me, this is more sad. D:

  • Why am i so addicted to this song?

  • Comment removed

  • @tdwpbmth21 I think it's a guy saying that...

  • hauntingly beautiful. reminds me of the vibe i get from "the dead girl epilogue part one" by I Am Ghost.

  • NEW ALBUM, COME TO LISTEN OUR TRACKS ON OUR CHANNEL

  • Remember When MMF sucked? yah me neither

  • @Ny4ppy Remember when you copied that joke ? attention whore !

  • @Erykex lol! ya im sick of the top comments i see over and over

  • THANK GOD FOR THE LYRICS! c:

  • @Myhumpbuddy where are the lyrics? o:

  • @ApologiesRForTheWeak ._. This song doesn't need lyrics....

  • @Myhumpbuddy i know that the song doesnt need lyrics, its already fucking beautiful without them, but i just wanna know what the background voices are saying? so if your telling me that this song doesnt need lyrics which you are right, than why would you post " THANK GOD FOR THE LYRICS ! c: " ?

  • It's awesome to know some bands actually reply to questions on comments

  • YEAH STFU WE KNOW U DONT CARE

  • I DON'T CARE.

  • Amazing song!

In the beginning you can hear the lady say "I'm doing the best I can, what do you want from me.." those exact words with this instrumental fit so perfectly. I can relate, it's breathtaking.
