Tbh I'm 6 feet tall only and I get that kind of view in real cars. And I'm not sitting close to the wheel (just as much as I need to), but usually I don't even see the dashboard clearly ahead me while driving (it's just in my peripherial vision), I have to look down for a moment to check things. It's the lower FOV that causes that feeling in Forza and I think it's again more realistic. No shift animation is a bad thing however, but at least all cars have a cockpit view!

@Regret696 The camera is WAY to close to the windshield,(I know of the triple screen method but that has its own problems.) There is 0 motion in the cockpit, the wheel doesn't move NEARLY enough (it doesn't in GT either but it definitely moves more.) There are more "features" in gt cockpits that work then fms. And saying they look better then gt5s cockpits are laughable, there is absolutely nothing about the premium cars that looks worse then forza cars, if you disagree your lying to yourself.
By the way, I think they chose this song to help glorify the car's capabilities on the track rather than depicting the attention to detail and precision made by Ferrari on the 458 Italia, which is what Gran Turismo did.

The trailer isn't bad, not at all, but it feels like Justin Bieber chose the song. Ferrari's aren't bubble-gum-pop 'puzzaz' cars. They are carefully and meticulously created for the driver. This makes it look like a commercial for the Toyota Prius or something.

GT5 is vaporware. It is not a fair comparison considering Forza 3 is available right now whereas GT5 is in video game purgatory. Also, Forza offers car damage greatly changing the racing dynamic (read more realistic).

Forza 3's graphics are only marginally better than those of GT4. But GT4 came out how many years ago? And for an older platform. Visually, GT5 can't be touched.
But Forza sound effects beat the crap out of any previous GT game. I just hope GT5 is a giant leap in the sound department.

I completely agree with you for Graphics GT5 are better than my beloved Forza 3, im not a fanboy and i just love Cars so both Games are fantastic IMHO for the developers putting my 2nd biggest passion onto consoles so i can play it which is my 3rd biggest. From my point of view Forza 3 is a Racing Sim and GT5 is more of a Driving Sim. Look at the game, Forza graphics are only a little better than GT4, which utilized nearly all the power PS2 had. That's how highly developed GT has always been, graphics wise.
GT has that down pat, they just need to focus on some other things, like audio.
The detailing level on Gran Turismo 5 can't be comparede to this or any other raciing game, Gran turismo 5 graphics are smooth, soft, and crispier, than any other racing game and the backgrounds are just stunningly beautiful.

FYI, the song, at the beginning, where it's showing all of the Ferraris, is called Talk Me Down by Mistabishi. The other song, playing for the 458 Italia, is currently unknown, for me.
In both games, the 458 Italia is detailed to every last nook and cranny. GT5 and Forza 3's reveal trailers have some pretty nice action clips of the sexy Italian beast in action, but I love Forza's soundtrack better.
thank god Turn10 used the physics from a Formula 1 simulator (as used by Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel). It makes the game 100 times better than Forza 2. This is so much better than NFS Shift aswell. NFS seems to use the same physics as Forza 2 which is shit. I'm definitely getting this.
I know that technically this doesn't count but gt5 is just gonna have like 30 gtr's and basically a crapload of TUNED cars and not models themselves and also they put a bunch of shit lame slow cars in it too

100 cars is dog shit, GT5 is shipping with 1000+ fully modeled cars in and out in full 1080p. while forza has a mere 3gb, GT5 witl have closer to 20+ gigs of cars alone

GT5 is vaporware. It is not a fair comparison considering Forza 3 is available right now whereas GT5 is in video game purgatory. Also, Forza offers car damage greatly changing the racing dynamic (read more realistic).

Forza 3's graphics are only marginally better than those of GT4. But GT4 came out how many years ago? And for an older platform. Visually, GT5 can't be touched.
But Forza sound effects beat the crap out of any previous GT game. I just hope GT5 is a giant leap in the sound department.

it isn't i heard the SLS in the trailer and it sounded like a V6. The graphics are catually better in this if you play it for real. For some reason in the trailers the graphics look worse :L oh well the game looks fantastic whatever way you look at it and the physics are unbeatable.

I completely agree with you for Graphics GT5 are better than my beloved Forza 3, im not a fanboy and i just love Cars so both Games are fantastic IMHO for the developers putting my 2nd biggest passion onto consoles so i can play it which is my 3rd biggest. From my point of view Forza 3 is a Racing Sim and GT5 is more of a Driving Sim. Personally i do prefer Gameplay over graphics (Why i have a 360 :D) and NOBODY can say which a better game because its impossible to Compare them as GT5 isn't out

Look at the game, Forza graphics are only a little better than GT4, which utilized nearly all the power PS2 had. That's how highly developed GT has always been, graphics wise.
GT has that down pat, they just need to focus on some other things, like audio.

The detailing level on Gran Turismo 5 can't be comparede to this or any other raciing game, Gran turismo 5 graphics are smooth, soft, and crispier, than any other racing game and the backgrounds are just stunningly beautiful.

no you are wrong i used the ferrari F430 on the second best tires (no idea what they were called) they were my m8's default tire choice. Honestly if you play forza you will cry. And this BS about the cars having real power and torque? i did a torque test when i was in the corvette ZR1 and my m8 was in the enzo and we did a rolling start at 50 mph in 4th gear and the corvette CREAMED THE ENZO! thats torque for you. FORZA FTW!!!!!!

FYI, the song, at the beginning, where it's showing all of the Ferraris, is called Talk Me Down by Mistabishi. The other song, playing for the 458 Italia, is currently unknown, for me.

In both games, the 458 Italia is detailed to every last nook and cranny. GT5 and Forza 3's reveal trailers have some pretty nice action clips of the sexy Italian beast in action, but I love Forza's soundtrack better.

thank god Turn10 used the physics from a Formula 1 simulator (as used by Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel). It makes the game 100 times better than Forza 2. This is so much better than NFS Shift aswell. NFS seems to use the same physics as Forza 2 which is shit. I'm definitely getting this.
