i love the sophistication of this phone. no one would ever dare borrow it from me if i had one cause for sure by just looking at how it works, they'll be having hard time figuring out how to access messaging and photos and videos and stuff..
Really liking this phone. Have the N86 and the movie player on that phone just rocks. So really thinking about how much better this phone is gonna be and really, really wanting to get the N900!!
someoneee hellp, if i just buy the phone without a contract can i still use the internet, i have a contract already so i was just gonna put that one in this phone
I got my Nokia N900 a couple of days ago and I love it....battery is running me about 8 to 12 hours ...phone calls are clear and easy to make, the touch screen is very responsive, it did not need the stylus
LOVE THE PHONE!!!! I will post a little review but I am waiting for my camera to arrive in the mail on tuesday...the camera and video recorder are quality, no problems there what so ever...the keyboard is very sensitive and you can tell which button you are pressing, small but very usable...the screen is very sensitive as well, never used the stylus
I tried comparing the N900 with Satio and HTC HD2, but couldn't get a definite solution..cos i believe sony ericsson has a good camera in their phones ..
thanks! I cant wait to get this. Hopefully tmobile picks it up if they were smart. Doubt it. I still hope they have some native apps so you dont have to rely on a 3g connection at all times for web pages. Google maps is the big one i am concerned about.
Me too, I've actually pre-ordered the device for nearly £500. Can't wait! It's due out at the end of this month.
Apparently the phone auto switches between connections to keep everything running smoothly, unlike the N97 which I found to be bad at connecting/switching.
You'll probably be able to use Google maps over any data connection though, be it wifi, 3G or standard signal.
Yeah, but i still hope they have some apps so they can be optimized to run on edge data if they have to. Facebook for instance would have to crunch some huge javascript on its page and would be useless on edge. I hope the launch isnt as bad as the 97 was. That phone was a pile of crap. I had it for a week and sold it.
do you know if it stays logged into instant messaging and networks so you can recieve notifications when the phone is idle? That is one thing i like about android, the always online thing, it doesnt sign you out most of the time. cheers.
It's always online too, it shouldn't sign you out if you have a messenger or social networking app/widget open. The widgets like Facebook are auto refreshed every so often.

I like this phone but resistive screens can feel mushy and require effort to use, unlike capacitive. It's so nice though.

the QWERTY keyboard could be a bit larger IMO

I would hardly call the iPhone's SMS layout original, seeing as it looks the same as every single IM client known to man.
KrazieAl 2 years ago
Um, how? iPhone SMS didn't invent the chat style look, Palm did that before them for YEARS.
If you don't know what you're talking about then don't talk.
jonnybryce 2 years ago
erm, actually Apple® created that style really early on iChat and then put it on the iPhone, not so smart now huh?

is it an resistant touchscreen?
kiikiig 2 years ago
it looks "capacitive" to me
majdijr 2 years ago
hehe what is that?
kiikiig 2 years ago
An example of a capacitive screen is the iphone, Capacitive are more expensive than resistive to produce
majdijr 2 years ago
oh okay thx :D
kiikiig 2 years ago
It resistive. But it's through that this is some high quality resistive technology. :D
celderian 2 years ago
resistive.
But seems to react just like a capacitive..
Pro is that you can use a stylus now.
DJThijz 2 years ago
Yeah it is, but its very responsive.

is the keyboard harder to use than the n97?
svntsvn 2 years ago
It's better to use than the N97, the keys are raised higher and have more of a click to them.

No, this phone won't be released to ANY carriers. This phone will ONLY be available online.
ATLKYDD404 2 years ago
That isnt true. Vodafone in the UK and Ireland will be selling it.
Xenos117 2 years ago
This must be new news then, because Nokia officially stated that this phone will only be released online and not through any carriers.
ATLKYDD404 2 years ago
It really isn't true. It is being sold through various retailers in Denmark. Not all online.
