Everyone's opinion is different though but I love Amy Lee and Evanescence's instrumentals are pretty good too but Nightwish has better instrumental music so it balances out for me :)

I really think Nightwish (or Tuomas) got their inspiration from the music of Castlevania... They started doing this kind of music about a year after Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night had been released and made a huge impact on many people with Michiro Yamane's incredible gothic metal tunes. At least _my_ teenage years were defined by Castlevania and Nightwish.
