I am really impressed with your retractable bunk idea. We have a 5 year old son and I've been trying to figure out how to fit 3 people in one. Is this a 4x8 camper? Could please you provide your dimensions?
The A/C I have is a 5000 BTU Haier from Target. It cost about $85. It is rated to run at 550 watts, so I bought a 750 watt converter. Well, as it turns out, the unit runs at about 700 watts, so the inverter frequently overloads. I would either need a a more efficient A/C or a 1,000 watt inverter minimum.
My plan for this trip to SC then FLA is to just plug in at the campsites. I do plan on setting up a battery system for future outback camping. For that I plan to get a 1,000 watt inv.
