@Tshizzle87 you actually do take the full class in some basic training companys ,very few of them tho,but its still only level one, there was a couple of privates that were were instructors in the civilan world so they were ahead of the army level one standard.
@Tshizzle87 you actually do take the full class in some basic training companys ,very few of them tho,but its still only level one, there was a couple of privates that were were instructors in the civilan world so they were ahead of the army level one standard.and by the way badger09876 you cant really improve on your biting skills can you?do they give you chew toy in the uk,and some fake balls to squeeze to practice because im pretty sure you cant actually try that on your comrades, ouch.
its a shame that the us army has gone down this route for there unarmed combat training. gracie combatives is only fit for the ring. In real fights people headbut, bite, eye gouge, kick to the bolocks, grab the bollocks. Well they do in the UK anyway. On the battle field its even worse. This should not even be called combatives. its MMA. In the real world you wont be in a perfect size ring. Total crap
You cannot spar someone who is not cooperative and does not follow rules. Go to the philippines and spar a real kali master with no rules (perhaps u didn't train with a legit master). The reason why some of the kali/silat techniques cannot be used in sparring is that they are illegal moves that could result in injury or death. How many UFCers have u seen die from a contest? None.
I was trained in this when i went 2 iraq and i can say that this is absolutely useless against a suicide bomber! Hit and move is more effective, or just run away. To dougdoug2006-- u need 2 learn 2 differentiate between martial arts and sports-martial arts.
I differentiated between "sport" and "martial arts" the first time I saw a karate "master" get his ass kicked by a golden gloves boxer. Actually getting hit, rolled up into a ball and choked goes a long way to build killer instinct. Compliant training does not. I've trained sever al different styles, from wing chun, to tae kwon do, to kali, and none of them compared to my MMA/BJJ training.
The one drawback of posting clinch drill videos on the internet is that you have every armchair warrior leaving stupid comments, because they don't understand the point of the drill. My last $.02; compliant training will never prepare you for combat like resistance training, so you internet ninjas can keep your bullshit, I'll train BJJ, Muay Thai, wrestling, Judo and Boxing, Thanks
Army Combatives comes directly from Gracie Combatives. This is Level 1? Hmmmm. Is this just a drill to learn to take punches? Oh..and it's break the wrist and walk away....LOL
I am considering joinging the Army. Will I only get to learn combavies in bct, or do I get to learn them throughout my service? Does my job control weather I get to learn them, or can I learn combatives regardless of my Army job? Hw often will I get to learn combative? Thanks.
Apparently you don't get the point of a "DRILL". Clinch Drill. Close on your opponent and lock up on him, and attempt to hold him no matter what. Are you going to try a "gentleman's way when you ass depends on it. Fucking people always watch these and assume they are seeing the culmination of the training. These guys are learning, first and for most, that they will be getting hit on the way in. ACCEPT IT and press on. Close on your opponent before he does it to you!!!
what is the point of this video. all i see are people running straight at the guys w/ gloves and getting the crap beat out of them. And the ones that were able to achieve the clinch never tried to take the man down.
the point is its training it teaches you that no matter what you are going to get hit and to accept it and drive on and get that clinch to take him down its all in the set up this is training you want real army combative's just look at UFC
Finger locks would release almost all submission hold in jiu jitsu. Try jiu jitsu with multiple opponents on the street and you will get the enlightenment you are seeking for my friend. In the streets, never fight with rules in mind. I hope you don't train this way for a street fight. Jiu jitsu is a "gentleman's sport" with rules. Try fighting a pissed off person without rules, and you will find the answers to your questions about fighting.
try using "fine motor skills" on a pissed off opponent when your adrenaline dump has occurred. I'll be the one standing off to the side laughing at you as you get stomped into the ground. Unless you train under the condition of the adrenaline dump (hence why they are getting hit) you will have no idea what to do when it happens and you are left with gross motor skills and load in your shorts screaming liek a little girl. There is a reason for training the way they do. Pay attention
The bald guy's last name is Philo. The chick with the ponytail, her last name is Eben. I was stationed in Fort Sill in 2007. Combatives is full of shit. Its something that the Gracies promoted that is not effective in a street fight. I've been in real fights and I've trained for years in jiu jitsu. You will never win a street fight with jiu jitsu.
yeah, i don't see the point either. what's the point of wrapping your arms around someone's upper torso under their armpits while the punch you? i mean if they are simply clinching then they are doing it wrong. and if they are trying takedowns then they are most certainly doing it wrong. i've been through basic at ft. sill and they come up with a lot of stuff just to fill time and a lot of it don't work
haha went through it today... its not so hard if you listen and do the right thing.. but you will get hit and knocked..... and dazed.. and then youd probably get a big dood that you really cant wrap your hands around than you have to seatbelt him.. and its hella hard sometimes.. but goood TRAINING.... hahah level two next month than ill be doing the punching... MUAHAHA
Fun to watch man. My brother just got back from Fort Sill. I dont know if your still training there, but you should check out my instructors clinch stuff. He has some demos on here. Type up Greg Nelson Clinch. Shows a few things from those double underhooks.
bulldog is a dipshit, Level one combatives is more or less for the person who has never been in a fight, and to know what it is kinda like to get you fuck tard
all im saying and ive been through alot of training is ive never seen traing like this and no if there doing take downs its a little bit further than just basic level one know what ur talking about dipshits i fuckin swear
what the hell is this crap both should where gloves to where they can grapple and punch this is some bad training they dont even do the take downs right they run into the punches like retards to honestly and half the times the boxers could of been put in a rear naked choke/ guiatine
are you retarded? have you ever been instructed before?... obviously they are training and practicing techniques and not actually fighting in a match.
i know they arnt fighting in matches but the best training is doing it the right way put them in a situation to where they can both do the moves the guy without gloves is trying to do takedown or put them in a posion they can handle the guy with gloves just punch to try and stop it and yes i have been instucted level 3 combatives i just don't see the point in this training its useless if they both dont do right its not good to just get bashed around have them both be able to do it
Thats not what we were doing. We are try to clinch the arms and keep them from punching us.We are not suppose to strike or tackle them just rap them up. its
a level 1 task. Level 2 you get more crazy with it. joining the army and try it yours self it hurts like hell
