I really liked the day stages in Unleashed, do you think I'll enjoy this game as well? 'Cause if so, I'll definitely buy it. Also I've been avoiding Secret Rings cause I'm a bit skeptic to the whole on rails thing, but should I check it out anyway?

I wouldn't say IGN hates Sonic, (the guy who reviewed Black Knight said he liked Unleashed) they just didn't like the sword mechanics.

That being said, the way in which they expressed these views was completley uncalled for.

I noticed that most sides gave the game 7s and 6s, while IGN and Gamespot gave it 3s. I'd call that needlessly harsh.

About time! I have been waiting for this one since I am actually interested in this one (though I don't have a Wii -_-). Though I do have say this, Sonic games are generally unfairly reviewed these days and as you said, Mario or Link can do the same game and get away with it but then there is this double standard bullcrap when it comes to Sonic. I mean this game looks and plays nice in my eyes and looks like a lot of effort was put into it which I commend Sega on that. The music is awesome!

sadly these people fail to realise that thats never gonna happen, so they do what they can to bash sonic again and again, but I know that Official Nintendo Magazine UK are actually very fair in all the reviews they do, heck they gave both Sonic and teh Secret Rings and Sonic and the Black Knight very fair reviews (giving them about 82% each or something like that), just goes to show that not every game magazine/reviewer has it in for sonic

sonic and the chamber of secrets heh. but yeah i think they should base a sequel on Greek myths i can see quite few great things for levels and bosses. Cerberus, hydra, Medusa, mt. Olympus, Hades (the place not the god). be pretty cool. i can see the characters easily take place as gods. i can see espio or tails as Hermes for some reason. eggman as Zeus...rofl.

Plus, the only connection Sonic will have with God of War is the theme; the Greek mythology.

"Ripping off" is only relative. God of War is intended for a mature audience whereas Sonic games are intended for 12 and below. It's good in that it offers a similar experience (albeit watered down.) In core gameplay, yes they are similar but it offers this experience to people with different interests.

That said, I still don't think the concepts were necessary to make the games good.
