  • this version can suck my balls.. jk i have too much respect to let this anywhere near.. bad version from my viewpoint.. best version is demo version for me, but this is just the worst i hope u understand my pain from hearing this lol WHAT IS THIS VERSION TRYING TO ACCOMPLISH!?!? what is it trying to prove it proves nothing

  • ooh i like it it's jazzy and seems liek them too.

  • I love this version! (:

    <3

  • @taillebasse1 It's her song, she can play whatever she wants

  • Totally can hear the beatles influence. Its kinda awesome

  • love this song and this band =) heard of them from satelite radio

  • not only is he the master of guitar singing and songwriting he's a master at multytasking with a cigarette in his hand!!

  • i also like the patio version of this song...

  • i love seeing them at the vogue...

  • where can i download this version!

    preferably not live

  • Listened to a similar version of this brilliant song last night at the Loft in Dallas. Loved it, like all the versions.

  • i like it without the girl she suxx ass dude =/

  • I want to marry her

  • i like the old version... but i LOVE this one too... UGH why is margot and the nuclear so and so's SO GOOD!?

  • Love this version and how it features more piano! Great!

  • This version is by far my favorite. I just heard it for the first time 5 minutes ago. The only other version I've heard is the Daytrotter EP version, but this is incredible.

  • I listen to this song when im smoking bong.

  • hell ya thats the only way to listen to margot

  • this is amazing.

    my favorite band ever.

  • I have to say Not Animal is one of my favorite albums to date. I haven't stopped listening since I got it, but I still love this version of the song but it would not fit in with the rest of the album. I hope you guys still play this version live still, it looks really fun.

  • I love this version...

  • Didn't the Bagel Deli catch on fire a few weeks ago? Or did it get hit by a car?

  • Its hard to tell from a cruddy recording...but I really loved the old version. Granted I have faith in Margot..but their label wants them to go more "commercial" and that might have forced the band to rework some of their music...shame..but like i said..i have faith in them.

  • Thank you for your concern. We actually did this while we were unsigned, so there was no evil influence. However, we have recorded another version now that is nothing like this or the original. Hopefully you will like the 3rd try.

  • Hey Chris...very surprised that you check out these posts! Its great to know the band is listening and watching. Thanks for the info..I'm sure the 3rd take will be brilliant...as you guys are. I have no doubt your new album will be just a deep and interesting as the first. Can't wait to see you in Los Angeles in May. First rounds on me!

  • It shocks me that people even question how this next album will sound depsite any influences. Margot is so far ahead of the indie scene and i have no doubt that animal! could be the best album of the year. You dedication to your fans and music blows me away. I couldnt show my appreciation enough to you guys in this comment. Have a safe trip home and on tour. Thanks for making the best music of this time, and i will see you in Bloomington.

  • @FryChristopher They both sound great to me. It's good to hear some hometown people actually making groovy music. It's my contention that artistic expression is never completed...so I don't mind when musicians make multiple versions of the same songs. It's evolution.

  • @FryChristopher nah i like both versions, keep it up. you guys need to come back to NY. need to see ya for a third time.

  • @FryChristopher You should be the proudest man alive for writing this song. This is the third rendition of it that i've heard and I swear i love them all. This version kicks so much ass.

  • this song is on their demo release, available for sale on their website.

  • any one knows what album this song will be on?

  • i did all the close up shots of richard and the band to the right of the stage. it was a great show up front. everything was on. looks good. good work in post marshal.

  • This is the shit right here. I wonder how it would sound on the album.

  • amazing...because everything by margot is amazing. no matter when, where, or whatever.

  • i agree but the acoustic version is better

  • i agree in the sense that it's really catchy. i'll sing the acoustic version all day. i do, however, love this version too, it's darker in a sense, a complete different feel. but a good one indeed.

  • I think it's funny how the lead singer keeps smoking throughout the song, even borderline while he's singing (when he says "Fountain Square").

Also not sure how I feel about the new version. As of now I like the old one way better, but I've been listening to that one for well over a year, so maybe it's more of a personal attachment sort of thing.

I'll reserve final judgement for the recorded version

  • While I'm glad to hear the song is back on the album, I'm not sure how I feel about the new version. That being said, I'll wait till I hear a studio version or at least live with my own ears to really pass judgment.

  • Yup, this was pretty killer. Good to see footage show up from those guys who were professionally taping everything...

  • whoa, i didn't think "broad ripple" could be improved on... but wow! i'm lovin' this new version! amazing video as well!!

  • I LOVE the new version. LOVELOVELOVE
