Remember seeing Danny Kim (in barrel 360s stand up), Paul Roach and Kevin Baker in some of the early vids-those guys were really good..Mostly I'd use swim fins tho, not bare foot (for stand up)..BBoards are alot more work to paddle and i found you get noodle arms..fins give you more time in the water...Also, it helps if you're not too heavy!

I used to dig doing drop-knee and standup bodyboading.. my board had skeg boxes, I'd use only one, so 360's were still easy to pull..had a fiberglass bottom (with carbon fiber strips) worked well for big surf but not prone riding or smaller waves..

stand up bodyboarding is hard to learn and be good at, but once you get it its ridiculous what you can do on these things, I tend to do it most in the summer when i can get away with a bathhing suit, and i got a Fs air 180 the way these things pump and ride is amazing and other surfers should definitely try it, im sure most of them couldnt stand up first (I am a surfer however)

I don't know the costs of surfboards......just assumed they have a "pretty" price tag compared to a bodyboard. The B-board looks like a nice place to start.......and it looks like from reading these comments that it's much preferred with some guys.

Hell yes! I do both (S.U.B. when my shortboards are under repair) and it is much harder to sub. You have to create drive and stability without fins, that shit isn't easy. Besides, try subing on heavy closeout shorebreak! Do that with your shortboard and break it. We should hate SUP's if anything, some of those guys can't surf for shit AND some of those same guys try to hog waves. Mob job!!!

P.S. Aka rips but HOGS waves sometimes at Half Point, even when it is small.
