Thats no aircraft strobe light. You can tell these things because the light are pulsating not blinking. Strobes have an 1 2 ON/OFF pattern mostly. The light patterns here are more complicated and chaotic, like a Christmas tree.

I think the simple fact that the video is can be watched in different hd settings all the way up to 1080p (which is less grainy btw) indicates that this was indeed recorded on an hd camcorder and not faked cgi.

I do agree with you though, there are many CGI generated videos (they're easy to spot by the trained eye), but -on a first impression- this does not look like one (unless it's really professional work). The Zoom in/out under low lighting conditions troubles the lens auto-focus. It's a common camera problem.
