Damn i haven't seen this video since 1979 or 80. bought this album right when it came out. 79 was a great year for music! Elvis Costello did his best stuff then too!
I'm the man! -- Wow, I don't know how long its been since I've last heard this! I do remember buying the album back when it was first released, like 30 years ago. Definitely a favorite.
love love love it! This is my favorite Joe Jackson song (I'm The Man). I have all of his other stuff and I like all of it, but this new wave tune was an effin great one! Love the guitars on this one, so cool to hear on the club speakers! LOUD! Oh yeah, let's pogo (it was really new when this came out).
Love me some Joe Jackson! I have a special edition version of this album, a small box with several (5, I think) double-sided singles instead of a large LP.
Saw JJ in concert in Durham, NC in 1982 or 1983. He ROCKED.
more incredible songwriting from one of the all time greatest artists YOU THE MAN JOE!! have a listen to Memory Box by Barry McCann if you are into song based stuff, it's really cool
Simply the BEST of that era. Always loved his song "pretty boys" poking fun at the mass produced garbage that was coming out at the time. Always wished JJackson & FZappa, each with his unique peculiar wit and biting social commentary, would have written/recorded something together. Instead we got the fluffy likes of Sir PMcCartney & Michael Jackson ;-[
wow,my older brother bought this when i was 14,i used to sneak in his room and play it on 45vinyl when he had gone to the pub, superb thanx for posting this.
Gosh!! I played this song in a cover band so many times. At the time this came out it had such a great in your face punk feel, but it also had a refined mature feel...so dang cool. ANd I'd never seen the video till now. And with all the pretty boy pretensions of the MTV era, which this predates...so dang clever.
Super
