We say 'flying the flag of Japan'... which now strikes me as racist... :/ Why do we have no nice euphemisms? I hope there are some responses from people who love getting their periods (I know they exist!). But I'm with you in the painful camp, I hope Bagpuss does his job and you're feeling better soon.
@sheschasingtornadoes I'm not sure if that is racist, I feels like it might be, but it's obviously based on the graphics of the Japanese flag rather than racial stereotypes. Hmm...perhaps not the best euphemism just in case?
I would love to get some comments from people who love their periods! I know there are women who get the jab that stops their periods and end up missing them too much.
Bagpuss did his job thank you! He is a good fat furry catpuss. ^_^ - Becca
@CassiopeatheGrande I so need to set a period calendar. Ever since I stopped taking the pill at around the 3 week mark I start panicking and have to ask my boyfriend how long it's been since my last period. Terrible!
If I do start a calendar I may have to borrow "the streets will run red with the blood of my enemies" as that's another rather marvellous one. ^_^ - Becca
My sister and I call it "ball of pain" (I often text her saying "I'm ball of paining" - catchy =p) because we both get really bad cramps and just curl up in bed for the majority of the day(s). Thank goodness for the pill, means I don't have to have ball of pain every month!
@StarsSuspended1 Ball of pain makes total sense to me. I've been told before though that even though it's instinct to curl up, actually lying flat and stretching the muscles out helps more. Used to work for me a bit!
The pill can also be a magic saviour, but in the end I opted for the pain over the side effects. :s - Becca
i call mine 'aunt flo', or my 'lady time'. in the past, i used to say 'i'm broken' (horrible, i know!). or when i'm feeling particularly cheeky, my 'crimson river of fecundity'. running to check out the products and charity you highlighted in this vid. good job!
@kishasol Haha I love "crimson river of fecundity"! I've definitely had the "I'm broken" feeling before too though so totally get that one. Please do check out the charity, I found out about them a year or so ago and donated right away. I can't imagine how much worse my periods would be without proper sanitary protection! - Becca
