@ani1616 - The reason we talk about it is because it's extremely frakking obvious. Hephaestion's first appearance in the biographies (Plutarch specifically, I think) is when he honors the tomb of Patroklos (Achilles' BFF) as Alex honors Achilles. During Alex's day it was commonly held that Ach&Pat were lovers. Now, unless they didn't mind the rumours that would fly from such an act, they wouldn't do it.

As for what's wrong with society? People like you acting like homophobia's okay.

Just completed an essay on Alexander, had to read the ancient sources. Hephastion was a warrrior, general, diplomat, Alexander's lover and possibly one of the most under rated men in history. Jared Leto is so hot a perfect for the role. It's frustrating where was the kiss, there should have been a kiss.

Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you. Whereas I'll be the first to admit I'm reading what I wish to see in the Ancient Sources, there are two worth noting, Aelian, Varia Historia 12.7 and Arrian Dissertationes 2.22.17-18 both refer to Hepheastion as Alexander's eromenous or lover. Unfortunately he didn't look anything like Jared Leto. Great pity. Still think there should have been a kiss. Thanks for your comment.

Alexander and Hephaistion are both very beautiful here.

But according to history, Hephaistion had Gold and short curly hair just like Alexander. They both looked alike except that Hephaistion was taller than Alexander.

What I really did not like about the movie alexander (actually the whole movie was crappy) was the fact that there was so little room given to the relationship of ale/heph, although they did really love each other and stuff... what fascinates me is the character of heph, he has so many reasons to cry or to be angry with al or to hate him and so on, but he doesn't. he does not stop loving him and wants the best for him,and this is really...whoa anyway,losing my point ^^

Very well done. As always I adore the pairing. I'll never forgive the movie for not having at least one kiss between the two, we got kissing and a love scene with rhoxane, a kiss and an implied love scene with bagoas, and a few hugs with Hephaistion. When the importance of the relationships is the exact oposite.

This makes up for it. I just rewatched alexander today and it was peeving me, so i've been reading fanfic and was recommended this video. I thought it lovely.
