Ham operators are still out there eh? Is a license still required to operate them? I doubt I'd ever get one, but am always interested in vintage equipment. Pretty neat there are still in use. What better way to use them than for weather talk. thanks
@rwdh199 Yes they are still out there. Lol.I would love to get my VE5 license but I know absolutely nothing about electronics. And the exam is not the easiest. Down east ham's are big in the Ontario region but here? It's getting to be a small group as people are getting older. Sad thought. When they come on air like this weather system they are members of Canwarn and work totally with E Canada telling them whats happening on the ground.
