Another thing that the person who translated this song didn't know is that "Amabhulu" was never and has never been referred to Whites nor Afrikaaners............This songs was referring to the apartheid regime of the time. You can hardly here this song being sang anywhere in the ANC gatherings these days.
This is purposefully mistranslated. For one thing, "Ama-bhulu" means "Boers" not "whites". It would be like saying the Irish national anthem "Out yonder lay the Saxon foe" is "Out yonder lay the white foe". Other lyrics are mistranslated as well.
Charlie, why not post a better translation. That would be far better than observing that "the translation is wrong." It may very well be, but your mere assertion of that says next to nothing. It could be that "we have pledged ourselves..." should be translated as "we have dedicated ourselves..." That might be a mistranslation, but it would be practically trivial.
And the world thinks he is a living saint. He should have hanged as far as I'm concerned. Rather respect Gandhi and Mother Theresa, they are true Saints!
@LineaGotica91 i am talking about zulu of course... people blame mandela for having been militant but sometimes things cant be changed by the way ghandi or mother theresa did it.
I say to hell democracy... you should keep your evil democratic ideas to yourselves. The greatest failure of the world is the U.S (not now wait two decades) and you will remember my world. Remember even the greatest empire of the world, the Roman empire has eventually collapsed!!! wink (^) and i think this song is racist but for what this people have faced, that is not racist at all.
YA, people deciding their own destiny. Hmmmm. Public rule, they have words for that like democracy and republicanism where individuals are given the chance to educate themselves, make their own decisions and than hold their leaders accountable. Your right a select few should have these rights. Like... a Junta maybe or a particular race who are known to ahve biologically superior qualities. By the way I'm being sarcastic you moron.
The biggest failure of Democracy in Africa is that unsophisticated, illiterate, uninformed and easily influenced citizens can replace those that fully sustain them with others that fully impoverish them.
