This band is great for fake-wannabe-blue-collar suburbanites who go to college in Boston and decided to wear scally caps. Or spoiled brats who move to Williamsburg and think that they are real New Yorkers as they encourage Wonder Bread gentrification. This is unrighteous.

You forgot two-handed masturbators named Rubin who argue George is the greatest Beatle and pride themselves on knowing all the words to "It's The End Of The World As We Know It".

They're not bad, but I know what you mean - these little midwest, N.E. whitebread motherfuckers are coming out of the woodwork with their Little River Band beards / tired irony / cowboys shirts from 79' - they're like cockroaches -they just keep comin'
Ya know, the Hold Steady are such a joyous experience for me and everybody else who is a fan of the band. If that makes me a 'wannabe' then to tell you the truth I'm not really sure what I wanna be. I listen to the Hold Steady because they're a tight rock n roll band and Craig sings about characters who sound like they could be people in my life. If you don't get it...then cool man...but to label an entire fan base of a band that means a lot to a lot of people is just narrow minded.
wow. how empty must your life be to stalk youtube looking for hold steady videos to paste the same comment on over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.... i noticed on your profile you contribute exactly ZERO to the world. good for you. keep hating. i'm sure it keeps you warm at night.
I just started getting into Hold Steady recently, I used to find Finn's new stuff kind of dull compared to his Lifter Puller work, which is about the most important music in the world to me. But lately I've started to listening to the new stuff more, and now it's hooking in hard. Finn just keeps getting better and better.
Craig Finn is the acceptable side of affectacious. THS are hugely consistant and proves that ageing gracefully (or disgracefully for that matter) is a state of mind and talent !
they like to keep a lot of live only tracks, like hot fries, you gotta dance with who you came to the dance with, and modesto's not that sweet. althought the last 2 were on the special edition of BAGIA.
In my top 10 THS songs, which says ALOT. Other 9: "How a Resurrection Really Feels"
"Stevie Nix", "Killer Parties" "Knuckles" "Stuck Between Stations", "Girls Like Status", "The Weekenders", "Stay Positive", "Hoodrat Friend"

I only found this song really recently, but it's so amazing!
I love the hold steady. They speak to my heart and my liver equally.

Next to Stevie Nicks, I think this is my favorite HS song. Its fucking spoken word poetry with a musical background.
"..cause that makes us thirsty, and when we drink then we all fall in love..."----FUCKING BEAUTIFUL.

@pvd5019 I totally agree, but you have people in your life that are like Craig's characters? Yikes.
