  • the best way to learn is hands on and a great idea to pick up scrap units and see how it works

  • @VRF410A exactly!, I have learned lots from testing and dismantling old units!

  • We have a 12 year old GE fridge still working.

  • lol. its always the comp.

  • Ed , are you gonna save the fan & motor.

  • I hate the korean/japanese stuff aswell, my parents had a samsung fridge freezer that lasted 12 hours- its compressor had burnt up. This had replaced a 12 year old admiral that had been running perfectly ever since but they wanted to get rid of it cause it didnt go with the kitchen!!!!!! lol

  • yeah, my kelvinator fridge with LG compressor is already getting tired after a couple of years.

  • So Email Air has reduced itself to an importer...

  • They still make new equipment over here I think, but their cheaper models are imported.

  • LG POS Compressor was the culprit in this one you should cut it open good to see how it would have failed

  • yeah, I hate korean stuff as much as Chinese, I'll give it the chop soon!

  • these are chinese crap i wonder why thst would have happened

  • Did a good job on that capacitor, blew it up good =P

  • Sounds like the start winding may have shorted prior to becoming an open.

    BOOOOOOOM goes the capacitor!

It sure gets your attention if you're nearby when it happens!

  • exactly!, would have gotten the attention of anyone near it!
