My friend, an ER Doctor told me that if only if abortion was legal, a lot of lives would be saved before 1976. I have a question for you my friend, if God sees all of us as equal. Why is it that a baby's life is worth more to God than a woman's life? I thought we were all equal in front of God.

@maanay100 it's sad that women were made to be baby machines and slaves to their husbands, but as a very wise person once said, "two wrongs don't make a right" Your deluded dribble reminds me of this guy I knew once who said he thought it was ok to abort a baby, if the mother was raped. His idea was that the "mother should not have to look at the face of her attacker for the next 18 years" which of course is reactionary, nonsensical BS and not in any way an excuse to kill a baby. Read the decision of Roe vs Wade. There are 2 provisions in the decision that would set aside Roe vs Wade. Both have come to pass and the US Supreme Court won't even go by there own law. If a female is on her way to get an abortion and say she is shot by a robber and both the baby and mother are killed, that person is charged with 2 counts of murder. If she made it and had an abortion that doctor would be committing first degree murder, but that's legal with the US Govt. What idiocy..

Because the choice to kill the baby no longer became the mothers choice when the murderer came in. He ended both of their lives without them having a say. A woman has the right to abort a baby, because it's still dependant on her for survival at young stages, it's the mothers choice whether she let's it live or not.

@loneIyboy15 were the allied forces who liberated the Nazi death camps misguided? The holocaust claimed about 6 million lives because those lives were deemed "non human" by the powers that were at the time. To date, 10 times that amount of "non humans" at least have been slaughtered, all in the name of women's rights and progress. How long will it be before we as a world wake up and realize that women are not the only ones affected by this horrible crime?

@apologeticsman how?... I know what I wanna say but I can't fit it in well so here it is all random like. The things being "murdered" aren't alive to begin with . If you're speaking out against late terms abortions where the fetus has already developed into what's esscentially a living human being all I have to say is. It has to be done sometimes.
The usual abortion is performed before the 8 weeks where the fetus barely has a circualtory system and no nerves or brain allowing it to feel pain.

Ok, let's turn it inside out for a minute. Are fetuses dead? You keep regurgitating the same old party line about how it's ok to kill something that isn't alive, yet you can't escape using words like murder in reference to them. If the fetus is dead, then it will never be "born" and become a person. There are people who have been born without eyes, ears, mouths, arms and legs, and they were still people, so how do you say that a fetus is not alive, simply because he or she is undeveloped?

The instant it's born without a heart, nerves , or brain ( or all of the above ) is the moment I'll condone destroying it. Or do you think something that's born without any of those vital systems is alive? Actually to make a more concise question. Do you consider your bodies' deliberate destruction of its own cells evil?

Well, I dunno if it matters to you or not, but the heart is fully functional and observably beating at 18 days, and I don't know how often it is that abortions are done at that point.
I for one do not consider it a loss that my body destroys cells, but it is equivocation to say "organ=cells, fetus=cells, therefore, fetus=organ.
Dependency does not equal organ (vs organism), the embryo is held by biologists everywhere to be an organism, and an organism is either alive or dead.

@Velokid93 There's a little problem of equivocation here. Embryo (the abortable tissue)= cells, fetus= baby. The criterion for this is simple. If it has nerves it is, at least in some respects, capable of suffering. Tell me it has a heart and at least nerves at 18 days then you can argue it suffers. The argument isn't really wether the tissue is alive. We know it is. It has to be for it to grow and replicate. PM me if you want to continue this ( no char limits that way )

@apologeticsman But being alive does not give the zygote full human rights - including the right not to be aborted during its gestation. A single celled amoeba is also alive. And yes the fetus is human. So is the DNA from your hair folicles. Does that make it illegal to pull a piece of hair out of your head? No. The thing pro-choicers deny is personhood of a fetus. It is not a person, it is merely a potential person. I don't want to fight with you, but do you see where I'm coming from?

We are discussing two very different things. People who have a seared or deficient conscience allow what is "legal" or "illegal" to determine what is right. 150 years or so ago, it was "legal" to enslave a black person, because they were supposedly not fully human, thus not entitled to the same basic human rights as the whites. Same thing with Nazis, they decided that Jews were not really humans as they were, so they had no rights either. Alive is alive, even when you're tiny...

Jesus was speaking of the Mosaic covenant, which few people understand. It is a sin to murder, but not to kill if someone commits a crime, and under the law, it was a crime to curse your parents. The difference was that in those days, the Jews had to be kept close knit, and as without inner conflict as possible, so a teen or young adult who caused disharmony could either leave, or be put to death. Maybe read the Bible instead of finding excuses??
