There is one thing that you can not see on these videos directly - kindness and help that I've encountered at all the mine sites. Without this help from the employees and management any filming would have been simply impossible. This is not a plug, I enjoy filming but meeting these people during my trips to australian outback was even more rewarding!
Geez, can not be to old, no sheet metal caved in around the base yet like every other Hitachi digger i have seen, not a bad machine if you want to turn the key and dig each day but wait till you have to work on them, the layout is woefull, the machines are very tinny and the wiring looks like it is from a KX80 motorbike, typical Japanese i guess.
I can't even imagine what an ordeal it must be to grease that thing.
