Jodie Emery: Update on Marc Emery, September 27, 2010

I'm a supporter of Mr Emery but I can assure you, he's not going anywhere. He is in Federal custody. The transfer of a foriegn national in Federal custody to the custody of their country of origin would be absolutely unprecedented. The is no parole in the Federal system nor is the "good time" He will serve his sentence in it's entirety. On the completion of that sentence, he will betaken by bus to the U.S. / Canadian border and deported.

I can't believe Marc Emery has to serve time in the U.S. This just goes to show the impact the states have on our Canadian government. Marijuana should be legal. It's only a matter of time before all these marijuana 'lies' catch up to the politicians. I totally support your cause and wish you, Marc and all the people involved the best of luck.

If Marc goes to California will Proposition 19 have any effect on federal convictions? It really would suck if a pot crime was punished in the one state that has marijuana posession listed as an infraction of law.

Watching how strong Jodie is helps me cope with the situation they find themselves in. It does not make it right in the least though. Whats happening to Marc is a effort to quell these "awfuly loud hippies" which seem to be forming in larger crowds lately. It's not working, if anything this should bring us together and make us stronger. The "or else" was not huge though, the conservatives could have easily refused extradition. All the other political parties made up public that they were against the extradition of Marc Emery and demanded that the conservatives refuse his extradition to the united states. If the conservatives can refuse extraditing a polar bear poacher they sure could have refused Marc's extradition.

Firstly, thanks for the update. I live in the UK and its almost 4 in the morning here but I couldn't go to bed without watching this first. You and Marc have all my support, even from across the pond :-) I look forward to the new prison blog posts, and the next one will be intresting to hear about the travel Marc faces when hes moved to wherever they send him, hopfully Canada, or atleast Cali.
