well you see this one is actually "canon", and not a true spinoff, meaning the storyline is the same, even tho the period is different

meaning, you should probably expect some sort of "omg i get it now!" by the time you finish the series... well that's what im hoping, cus i think they might clear up (or add more info but keep) the huge question in the last episode of R2 at the end (you should probably know what i mean if you've watched it xD)

also this will be an anime! :D

A manga, titled Code Geass: Jet-Black Renya (コードギアス 漆黒の連夜 Kōdo Giasu: Shikkoku no Renya?), is the first product announced. It features a seventeen year-old boy named Renya with a mechanical arm who uses shuriken as his weapon of choice. The story begins when he encounters C.C. It is set in the Edo period. Director Goro Taniguchi is scripting the story, which is meant to be another part of the official Code Geass history.
