I was very mad when they killed of Rita. Sure she was a big complainer in dexter's life, but she was everything to dexter. I feel like the writers ripped out his heart and stepped on it. I actually vowed to not watch the show anymore because of this, but I'll probably watch the first few episodes of the next season. To be frank, if the first few episodes aren't good, I'll believe they fucked the show over in their attempt to get ratings and I won't watch it anymore. Poor dexter.

I watched episode 1-1 again last night, and he already knew Rita... just gave a narrative of how they met, you know in his 'introspective' self talk that Dexter does.

@momentsinmusic I just finished watching this episode. (The Finalé). There's absolutely ZERO confirmation as to who did it and why. In fact, I would ASSUME Trinity did, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's more here beneath the surface.

i'm trying to imagine how dexter will end. personally, i thought they could have ended the series after 4. i felt it was perfect. you can't watch him take care of the kids, he can't be caught or "come to an end", dexter had come full circle and i thought everything was tied up nicely. oh well,,,,i trust the writers as they have been excellent but i hope they don't milk dexter to where it becomes insignificant.

I totally love this show. The writers take chances which is what you have to do to keep the audience guessing. As the author of The John Dark Books I can tell you readers will get angry if you kill off one of their favorite characters. Another great author Jennifer Caress told me she would slit my eyelids and pour salt in my eyes if I killed off her favorite character.

Yeah, being a writer is a dangerous business. I salute the writers of Dexter for stepping up to the plate and kicking ass!
