Just to help ya out. You are combining alternate picking with hammer ons'ect... Economy picking is a very fast way to play. They are not very different from alternate picking. I admire youre honesty, however it would take you NO time at all to know what you are doing. Then people will know what they are doing. Don't be araid of theory. You play fast and theory will really open doors for you. Thanks for the video. It was a cool lick. I'll use it. Take care.

theory isnt totaly necisary to play guitar.. i mean its very useful and helps to know wat your playing, but some people dont really have to the time or resources or whatever to study or learn theory, its not like hes trying to be the next jimi hendrix... hes just having some fun! hes not a bad person just cuz he dosnt wana learn theory, not saying that you guys think he is a bad person.... OH! btw, nice vid =P

Theory is very useful. allof the greats (technically great) guitarists are knowledgable in theory. Petrucci, malmsteen... Petrucci has a degree in music theory for christs sake.

Don't even think for a second that its 'better' to learn by urself without theory. It makes everything soo much easier, understanding what you play.

I'm not saying you need theory to be the greatest, but it certainly helps

ive only been playing for about 3 and a half years, i find it hard to make my alternate picking faster, the fastest i can pick cleanly is sextuplets at about 130 bpm

any tips on how to help my picking get faster? cause im finding it difficult without making it sound all blurred , as if im just tremolo picking and moving my fingers around

p.s your awsome for not knowing theory, i dont know any ither really but it just goes to show you that theory isnt totally neccisary :)

I agree. I´m a self taught guitarist and I´ve been playing for eleven years, and I know guitarists who know lots of theory and have been playing as long as I have and I´m a lot better.
