Hey Abby ! You go girl ! we're all very proud to know and read about your voyage, I don't think I've got the courage that you do. I'm glad that you got off again looking forward to reading your continuing trip Bon Voyage !!
You ARE an AMAZING young lady!!! I can't wait to share your story with my 14 year old daughter! You are exactly the kind of role model the world needs! .........I hope you write a book about your grand adventure!
I am in awe of you and your spirit. Not only are you sailing solo around the whole world, but you never get lost!! I am in my mid-fifties. I got lost driving a golf cart around Catalina with a map in my hands. Abby, you are wonderful!
Wow, at that age my worst worry was how to get my pants leg out of my bicycle chain sprocket. I find it very interesting a young person could have the courage and fortitude to take on such a trip. Good Luck to you.
@mrroper: I am very sorry for interfering in your preparations. I was just stating an observation and had hoped to encourage Abby on her further journey. Never mind, I wish her a successful continuation. May all winds and ocean conditions be favourable for the rest of the trip, I am sorry for my comment. Over... and out.
Hi All, Jeff here ( Made the vid) Abby certainly wasnt depressed. We left the marina with about 1 hours daylight left, and along with her dad and Scott, she had plenty of items to think about and work thru, with a possible end to the weather window for trials, so i think she just had loads on her mind. It was a privilege to sail with her, she's upbeat and looking really forward to resuming her voyage! I will be following her out to shoot her 'departure' vid. :-)
Depressed? Well, maybe so. And clearly understandable with tens of thousands going off down under and above. But in congrats, Abbey has shown the ultimate in spiritual presence, grace and evolution through complete acceptance of... embracing what is, reality. I respect her "ocean" depth for this! Much love Abby.
running backstays??? does the boom fit inside the backstays? those really add complexity to singlehanded sailing. i must agree with thies21- you GO GIRL
So happy to hear that Abby is doing ok. To her Mom and Dad - how proud you must be!

@thies21 If she's depressed it because there were other people on her boat! She's used to being solo, "Thanks for the help, now leave me alone!"
