I just bought a 12 ounce bottle of organically-grown concentrated cranberry juice (no sugar added, just cranberries). Here in the big city, that cost me $11.00.
another way of making highbush cranberry juice is wait for a drunken grouse(they eat the fermented cranberries and gets buzzed and crazy)to crash through your window and you have highbush cranberrie juice all over your floor...You can have fresh grouse and cranberry juice for dinner. instead of picking Lead shot out of the bird your picking out glass.
They say the squirrels and other small animals will eat the bones and antlers for the calcium in them. Thats why they hung them in the trees. dont know foor sure tho.
That was a most enjoyable video. Down here in Nova Scotia we get the cranberries growing not far from the beaches and they're right on the ground in the heath and the smell of the junipers and wintergreen berries and what all i'm not aware of makes the breeze as spicy as a kitchen. Mostly my wife and I buy them frozen at the store and make jam out of them, with stevia, though, not sugar. You're right about the fresh ones - they're the best. But cranberries of any kind are pretty fine.
I like the camera work, when you are walking along the path, past the camera. More work for you of course, but makes it overall feel more polished. Well done!
Good stuff. The camera work is getting better all the time. the walking through the bush shot was well done. I guess you're toting the .22 as bear medicine. thanks for the vid.
@TheWildNorth I wonder how I missed that Bro? I must've stepped away for a beer or a piss! Thanks for the shout out! Looking forward to the next vid!!!
Well if I ever get turned around in the bush I'll be eating like a king until I make it out because of your videos. Then again maybe I'll just stay in the bush haha. Good stuff man.
Another good vid Andrew.I just did a similar thing this week with wild raspberries. Made a big pot of juice and froze some into ice cubes and used the rest as a dip for shortbread.
@1212boochie yes the axe is fiskars it is the best splitting axe i ever came across.i also have a smaller version in machete i swear on my own life its the best axe i ever split wood with!!
Good to see the river boat, I was going to ask about it.
I was trying to do a swap people Mackenzie Delta style video but the videos were not very good. Picked some yellow cloud berries, saw a big moose in full velvet and Reliced through a couple creeeks but videos were not any good. I got to get a better camera.
Be picking low bush cranberries in a week or two. Be good if you do a video about those, I will copy whatever you do with them. Get the snowmobile out on the tundra.
Love the vid's on the outdoor and wild cooking/juice making. Do you get blueberries up there? Blueberry wine good buzz bad hangover =) Keep up the good work man!!!
Hey man great video! We do lots of different things with High Bush Cranberries down here at home; like jams, preserves, syrups, etc. The thing we do differntly is we wait until we get our first heavy frost, this turns the skins clear and the berry darker red; and it gets much sweeter. I bet that juice was a thirst qwencher on a hot day. Keep posting videos we really enjoy them; take care and keep safe. Kevin
I've seen these berries before in woods but I always thought they're poisonous. Are there any berries in woods of north america (east coast) that are red and poisonous?
Yum.
