@vtownHduece not shorter than the cable y1 tranny , you must be comparing the the gsr tranny to the other b16 trannys that where geared for the xsi integra...
those trannys (jdm a1,jdm j1, jdm ys1) where indeed way too long....
even do the vr would wip the shit out of the 1,2,3 gen b16 i would still go for the b16 why? there is no economic motor on the market, yet the b16a is great for everyday life. ask a guy that has a vr hel tell you all about the fun he has at the pumps
maybe, youre lucky in the states you have wonderfull gas, in quebec the gas is shit....my friend had about nine liters (2 gallons) of pure crap in his ef civic gas tank. (and when i say shit i mean that the car wont even move or start when you hit that bottom)

Mk2 would have pulled even harder with the same engine, because they're lighter. You could go swap the chassis for a Mk2, and swap in your VR setup.

why the hell would you put a gsr tranny into a b16.... the b16 needs a closer gear ratio to keep it into the tq and hp rpm range

i have an mk3 vr golf, i get 25mpg city and 29 highway. its a LOT better on gas then youd think.
