@Valerio2381 you're right, man. there are many guitar players and if one is better in something another one is better in something else... but Gilmour is the one who makes me feel better, no way.
The reason this track sounds so 'Floydian' is because it's got half of the classic lineup (Gilmour and Wright), along with Rado 'Bob' Klose, who was a VERY early member of Pink Floyd from back in the mid 60s, and also Guy Pratt, who has played on Floyd tours and Gilmour albums off and on for two decades now. Throw in David and Graham, and you've got 'Crosby, Floyd, and Nash' - a Pink Floyd for the current decade.
Simply amazing. I heard about "On an Island" and this was the first chance I had to hear it. The legendary voices of Crosby and Nash really helped to set this one off.
How sweet that is to have graham nash and david crosby as your backup vocals..Their vocals are awesome with Dave's ..would love to see that album of songs together
its songs like these which show people how much gilmour contributed to the floyd. i mean waters was a lyrical genious, but musically noone beats gilmour
This song (and entire album, really) has something special about it. I only heard it a few times, and I had to have it. For any of you that actually bought the CD, the CD photography is beautiful too, in the booklet.
I love David Gilmour's singing and guitar. My (ex)girl loved it, and I thought it was awesome she knew something other than just Pink Floyd. Killa Katie, I love you.
35p6khop356kh5poh,op5,ho Mr David Gilmour is an Enlightened Being ,he lives in the present Now eternity,he is a very aware person ,he is learning to fly beyond time into reality itself, heaven the here and now, most of you won't have a clue what I'm on about....
its kind of sad really, to watch the footage of gilmour back in the early 70s (live at pompeii) and see him rocking out at his peak, then watch this later stuff. same godlike mind but whithered by time =(
He still got it though really he's just less experimental!! sort of living off his past songs!! but he still better than any other guitarist from this new generation!
Agree on the better that other guitarists but I dont think that he is living off his past songs, he is always looking for something new to work on, I just hope that I live enough to see him playing live
i love floyds stuff from piper to division bell but davids solo work just touches my soul big time..i wonder if floyd would have been so sucsessful if david didnt join in 1968,i think he is a genius that brought out the best in all of them.sorry if it seems disrespectful
mason isn't the best drummer, and wright was self-taught on keys, so I wouldn't consider that very disrespectful considering that David composed the music mostly by himself while Roger Waters pretty-much just wrote lyrics (which is why he considered himself the leader oddly enough). David was the most professional and musically talented in that group no question

Gilmour always plays the right note at the right moment, with the right feeling, with the right tone. His singing and playing get you inside the song, as if you were living it while you listen to it... truly amazing.
Mr. Gilmour great musician and a great soul as it can be inferred from his social work trough his foundation. And this music is only one example of his interesting personality
By the way, the Pete Cornish G-2 sounds absolutely incredible on this track. When it's combined with the Tube Driver in the second solo it's even more amazing. With rich delay from a Pete Cornish Tape Echo Simulator, studio mastering, and the fingers of David Gilmour, the guitar solos in this tune are sublime. It's nice to see David on a Les Paul as well. P90 pickups anyone? The Black Strat shines on all its glory here. I particularly like the part between 2:56 - 3:06. Great stuff.
Can someone explain this to me: Why does this video only have 25 comments (including mine) and 27,522 views? This is by far one of the best songs to come out in a very long time. Shows how the music industry has changed. This kind of music isn't the best selling anymore like rap and pop music but it has a timeless quality and wide audience. absolutelly agree and have nothing more to say. Maybe just that most people are stupid and that most of the music today has no beauty in it, except few examples, like this one.

another says: I've got the smallest head of the world!
last one says: I'm the most musical talented of the world!
The 3 guys go to Guinness World Records.
First one goes first and returns happy: I've really got the smallest arm in the world!
