Now if this is not a show of respect I don't know what to tell you, Now when you think of soul music I mean real soul music, when you see a this you can feel what music is. Gerald is putting in work. He was a real show man.
Well, I think that the teddy bear was wonderful in all that he had done. You know you are good when you can sing at every BET walk of fame. Say like Ms. Patti LaBelle it would not be a show if the teddy bear was not there.
Gerald did a better job in my opinion. Aretha's version irritates me. I know this might get me sum negative response, but, its only My opinion.. Since I like Gerald Levert's music over Aretha HANDS DOWN ANYDAY. RIP Gerald Levert
First of all Gerald was outstandinding. Will someone help me understand, why can't we find a concert dvd or any music dvd of Gerald. Gerald is one of the greatest singer and performs of all time. I tried every where to find a dvd on Gerald with no luck. I hope someone in the music industry wake up, this is unreal. I have seen Gerald several times at his concerts and on tv. The brother bring it, I want his dvd.
Gerald, unfortuantely was not a big name performer like Luther Vandross. Gerald didn't crossover to the mainstream like Luther or someone of that calibur. Gerald Levert was the black peoples singer, and he just didn't crossover to the masses.
Say da damn thang JCaldwo3. Gerald was "OUR" singer and he is sadly missed. I loved me some G and always could look forward to a great performance when he was involved. I loved his R&B style and am glad he never gave it up. He was versatile though when he wanted to be. He could soften it up and slow it down. RIP GL
I would love to have seen this on DVD, along with his performance on Patti's BET Walk of Fame when he sang Somebody Loves You Baby, and rolled on the stage like Patti did back in the day....I miss Gerald and Luther.
gerald baby, that was better than the original artist herself. A true entertainer from his heart. He put his whole soul, mind and body in that song. Gone but never ever forgotten.
'Retha may have killed it live, but I can guarantee that aretha couldn't turn me on like this man here did (and still does). mmm lordy is all i can say! something about G. I sure do miss him!
I must have hit this video up 24,000 times myself. Eddie's son could really sing and he was fine as wine. I get kind of excited when he start to move around the stage. He was one hell of a performer with those juice juice lips.
So Right, he tore this song up! And kind of left Aretha version in his dust! I can't stop hitting it up. Sound so good to me. Whom ever posted this Thanks from the bottom of my heart!
I loved when he did a tribute to Smokey Robinson, that was amazing too. Smokey loved it. So did I. I really miss him so much. There's no one like him.
You are so Right! Aretha is old...She like what??? But, I'm like you, if I was that closed to the stage I most certainly would have jump on stage and kiss those juice lips of his! Anyway ever body in my family and my man knows that I loved me some Levert, Gerald Levert is really missed, but his music will live on!
sooooooooooooooooooo sooooo gooooood..thank you Gerald...R.I.P...i can't wait to get up to heaven and get my personal rendition..thank you aretha..and everyone else...xxx
I usually do not enjoy Aretha songs when they're sung by someone else, but OOOOHHH YEAHHHH Gerald Levert does an incredible job on Dr Feelgood. The Queen looks like she enjoyed Gerald Levert's commitment and intensity on one of her best, most daring compositions to date.
Gerald was the high light of all the BET walk of Fames.

Although this is mainly a woman's song, he does a pretty good job with it. I think it does miss a little something being sung by a man, though.

Gerald WAS Dr. Feelgood in the flesh and I miss the hell out of him.

I just don't know how anyone could sit still through that performance. Gerald put all he had in that song and some. He is really missed.

I aggree he was out of his range
He was a great soul singer but I got tired of him hang around on the same note
If he had chosen a lower key maybe he would have had more to play with
