  • I was also part 5! Man I loved singing this song... This was recoreded the year before I joined Pro Cantu though : /

  • Lol in choir, our teacher turned off all the lights and it was pitch black. I couldn't even see my hand in front of my face. And then he tried scaring us by knocking chairs over and stuff x'D Freakin fun. The worst part was we couldn't leave our chairs. So we were stuck. In the dark.

  • nair nair nadula nair nair...

  • Part 5, best part ever. <3 Overtones still freak me out.

  • part seven. two notes. best singing experience ever.

  • i sang this song at school freshman year and was an overtone soloist honestly an amazing experience to have

  • if nuclear fusion was a song, it'd be this one. it sounds like mercury wash and metal voices under the swirling infrared of desert sun. beautiful.

  • awsome, amazing, beautiful, what else is there to say?

  • A friend recommended this to me and I enjoyed both the music and the beautiful pictures of the cosmos.

  • i just sung this piece today at our chorus festival and i was part 6!! wonderful masterpiece!

  • OMG this gave me chills!!! and out me in a trance :D i love it. <3

  • Part 11, i hold the same note for six minuts straight. Its kinda awesome.

  • Part six! :D I never get to do the nair nair nair na-du-la nair thing. :( This song is so cool!

  • nair nair nair nair na-da-la nair nair. =D We're singing this song in my high school choir!!! It's gonna be BADASS! X0

  • @PuppyKatNinja I envy you. In my high school choir we never got anything this complex.

  • Nice all around! I love the galaxies that play. And this choir is nice.

  • to me this is the most moving and amzingly beautiful piece of music I have ever heard. I have also had the opportunity to perfom this song in a choir!

  • This is the best version that i have heard. My choir did this a few months ago, but its not as good. i posted the video on the video response.

  • i love this! :D

  • my choir is doing this song! i'm so excited cuz my choir teacher put me in the high part and i'm only a freshman so I'm kinda scared :P but it's going to be fun!! :)

  • RUSHINGGGGGGGG like crazyyyy!!!

but its hard not to, i forgive you :)

  • the overtones started too quickly but otherwise a great performance.

  • We just started this today in choir. I'm part 2. I learned today that the strange noises I make on a daily basis have PURPOSE. Hurray for the massive amounts of harmonics~

  • :D Overtones= win

  • this song is soooooo much fun to do

  • >.> We are starting this song lol XD We learned how to over-tone today in class and that sounded really cool when we got it right!

  • Part 12....woo hoo....One note that whole time....

  • i sang this high school, loved it

  • Our school is pimp as fuck, we do this one almost every year.

Well, okay, I'm not in the choir BUT STILL best song of all time B)

  • My Choir is performign this and im an 11i only sing 2 notes after the begging lol this is truely an amazing song im so stoked for it its eerie that overtone is hard to hit but we have almost got it were performing in oct i

  • I'm part 5 on this song... we get to sing those "Nair nair nair na-duh-la nair nair nair"s forever and ever. XDDD

  • @ChibiKittenChan lucky...I'm part 6...all I say is "oooh, and yea"

  • @ChibiKittenChan i was part 6, but i sang part five because i got sick of singing the same note forever and ever lol

  • indeed. it's one of the most basic ways to teach a choir that music is not all about the sound of an individual, but of all the pieces coming together to form a unified whole.

  • such an incredible piece

  • i think i was part 6 or 7 and i got to do some of the overtoning

  • Laneka, you want a simple part? try singing mine. Part 11. HAH only two notes after the opening.

amazing song though, i loved singing this.

  • My friend was doing this in our school choir.

She was driving herself crazy trying to get the overtones right.

  • Just heard my sis sing it in the high school choir. SO GOOD. Too bad I missed singing it by one year. :p

  • were singing this tomorrow and damn if we can sound like this that'd make being in choir worth it, they're REALLY good, cool pics too

  • i hate to sing this song, but i guess its good,

my choir got a standing O for this the other night.

  • we did this song at our concert last night!

  • I was just watching the vid and my mom caught me watching it and she stayed just becaused she liked the pictures

  • I wish we could have performed music like this in our choir. The director always gave us very easy songs, a limited selection of songs, and worked those songs for so long that when we finished each song we hated it.

  • does anyone know where I can get the music for this?

  • We're doing this song in my choir, and we're a combination of scared and excited for it. I think i'll learn my part quick though, i'm part 7 for those who have sung this before, and so far its pretty simple. It's nice to hear a finished product of this song though.

  • In my opinion, this song note wise is not difficult but more so, getting the right feeling/expression behind every note.

You would it to sound...primitive I guess?? Just not all la-dee-da, lol.

  • Think this is good? Buy Concordias version of this song on itunes.

  • We sang this in all-state last year...i feel absolutely in love with it. Great Recording!!

  • best performance i have ever heard. actually scares me

  • I performed this once.

It's a pain in the ass.

  • This piece gives me a chill when I first heard it, we are going to preform it in all county choir this winter.

  • AT LAST.

    a slower version.

this is the most amazing song.

you can feel the earth glowing from beneath you when you hear this sound.

  • oh shit.. i was wrong :P

  • Hi,

This piece was recorded at the Endler Hall in Stellenbosch, South Africa.

    Musical Greetings

  • I discovered this piece a few days ago and just fell in love with it. I think this performance is the best I've found. Way to go, Pro Cantu!

  • Thank you very much

  • i heard this a while back.. this is the recorded version recorded at St Peters anglican school in brisbane

  • I am pretty sure this is from Sarah Hopkins' album so obviosly it's very good, but it's a relife to finally here a decent versions outside of chanticleer's on youtube, every other choir takes this piece way too fast and destroys its effect.

  • Thank you for your comments.

This is Pro Cantu youth choir performing the piece.

    Please visit us soon.

  • @Magarathea Nah, NJ All-State did well with it in 2010, though the overtone soloists were set way too high in the hall, and only 1 could make himself heard. He's one with the natural talent. Although, done right, and I've heard this done with Sarah Hopkins conducting, mock-overtone singing should be employed from the beginning. I love the white space at 2:15, was done just right.
