2007 - Geelong won the flag -> Runner Up in 2008

2009 - Geelong won the flag -> 2010?

1946 - Essendon win the flag, runners up in 47, win in 48 and 49.

1957 - Melbourne win the flag, runners up in 58, win in 59 and 60.

1986 - Hawthorn win the flag, runners up in 87, win in 88 and 89.

2007 - Geelong win the flag, runners up in 08, win in 09...

On the above basis, looks good for 2010 too. Note their was 40 years between the first and 3rd occurrence. If Geelong do the same, it'll be 50 years since Melbourne did it.

well my stat showed that it happens every 2 years, your stat showed it happened 11, 29 and 19 years respectively so you really just wasted time in your life by researching something for no purpose. well done.

well if your going to use the melbourne example..then you might have to include that melbourne made 7 consecutive grand finals and won 5 and lost 2 .. geelong have not done that yet, they are no where near that yet so i don't know the logic behind your comment at all .. it lacks history because everyone knows from 1954-1960 that melbourne was as dominant as hawthorn of the 80's .. so i wouldn't really use an example when geelong havn't been in a grand final every year since 2004. nice try mate!!
