There's no doubt about it.....White Equipment Co. was ahead of its time back then - from frames to the front wheel assist. Right out of the gate back in 60 they had the balls to plant a GM 4-53 engine in their 1900 models....danged if that didn't cut it.
great vid the 2255 is my fav oliver i like the front wheel drive i think oliver was ahead of there time back when they came out with fwd deere and ih and allis didnt offer it now you cant find a two wheel drive
Yes and no. White Motors acquired all three companies, first Oliver in 1960, then Cockshutt in 1962, then Minneapolis Moline in 1963. Late model Cockshutts were simply rebadged and repainted Olivers. Some Minnies and Olivers were also rebadged and repainted and supplied to each other. Also, some tractors were hybrids - the 1355 Minnie for example had a MM engine, but the rest of the driveline was Oliver. All great brands of the past that still live on to this day!
These pictures were taken at various shows in the USA by the webmaster at the site listed in the video info section. His site is a great tribute to the Oliver 2255 tractor.
